I won't be able to sleep soundly for months knowing that two WOMEN were allowed to marry EACH OTHER! Sickening!

Sure they were married. Just like when we were kids and we would play house, I'd be the daddy, and the girl across the street would be the mommy. But were we married, really married? Of course not. So also, no matter what Ellen calls it, she isn't really married any more than the emperor of Rome was really married to his horse. And saying so isn't "hate-speech"; it's "fact-speech".

it is a beautiful thing when two souls unite in marriage. god made us all and he did not make garbage, so equating marriage of two people, no matter who they are as not according to god's plan is just silly. who made us all--god? and if god made us all and said judge not and be not judged....who is there of all of us to cast the first stone?

Nice to see two people in love go for it. Ellen's show is fun to watch now that she gave up the single minded focus of being the 'house lesbian'. Let's hope for Ellen's sake that Portia works out better than Anne Heche.

This happens only in Hollyweird. First of all, I have no feelings on any one's sexual orientation. However, I think that they're both kind of silly. Ellen always dresses up like a man (really a teeenage male college kid) and I think that Portia de Rossi (Amanda Morgan) is a bit clueless. But hey, let them have fun until the checks stop coming. They draw more attention to themselves when they go through this charade to appear to be normal when they really aren't.

So cool! It's really encouraging to see some actual progress in terms of equality & rights here in America. A lot of people love to complain about how bad things are all of the time but when you hear things like this it makes you realize that we're really doing pretty good in ol' 2008. Well... no. Gay marriage is legal in the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Massachusetts, and now California, with such marriages being recognized in New York.

Partnerships or unions are allowed in Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Luxembourg, parts of Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Oregon and Washington.

Interesting to find that in some respects, South Africa is more tolerant than the US?

How can anybody tell me what is good in the eyes of God or his plan? Did God com down and tell you personally? The idea of faith and God's plan is different for everybody. The fact is that this country was founded to escape both political and religious tolerance. To impose restrictions on gays just because of the hypothetical imposition on some peoples' values would diminish the basic founding proposition of this country.

By the way, dogs and cats are not even classified as human, so comparing same sex marriage (human-human) to human-animal marriage is incomprehensible.

Isn't California another country of its own? If not then it should be. Not only are the law's of California unnatural, but ungodly and unamerican. The state should be kicked out of the union.
