So far I have only heard the Jones Beach shows (dissapointing) and the 2 Gorge shows from this year (both excellent). I am currently in the midst of grabbing the Red Rocks run from livephish but I was looking for some more but don't really know where to start. What were the "must-have" shows of 2009?

I would say jones 2nd and 3rd night were definitely up there

I heard the final 3 nights came together well. I was only at SPAC though and it was excellent. If this initial summer tour was about getting the rust off and finding their groove, they sure did that.

I didn't catch as many shows as I'd have liked to, or as many as I have on previous tours, but my favorite that I made it to was the Burgettstown, PA (Pittsburgh technically) show 6/18 (including the, to quote Fishman, "train wreck" portion of the show during the encores). But I haven't gotten to hear many of the shows that I wasn't actually in attendance at yet.

I think it was 2003.....Burgettstown which was a very interesting show. That was my son's 50th!
As someone who's followed them since '93 I was ok just seeing one show on summer tour and letting them come back without me running to every show. I'm hoping for Maine 2010 |

I went to Burgettstown, Darien and Saratoga all three shows were fantastic but I have to say Darien was the best of the three. It was Trey's 15th wedding anniversary and he definatley put a little extra into it.

Burgettstown was a good show (Highlights - Tube, Hood, Squirming Coil, YEM)
Hartford was even better...pure energy from start to finish. Best show of '09 so far in my opinion.(Highlights - ACDC Bag, Forbin>Mockingbird, BOAF, Stash, DWD (with Reba jam at the end), and last but not least - ICCULUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS SSSS!!!) |
