My mom (in NJ) met my stepdad (in Los Angeles) in 1990 on Compuserve. Within a year, he'd moved to NJ and they're celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary this July. Living proof that these things do work!

I met my husband online in 1997. Not in a chat room, nor through a dating service, but by chance when I was doing what I do everyday with computers... research. One night after work 11 years ago, I went online looking for some answers to some questions I had about architecture and this year, my architect husband and I will celebrate 10 years of a wonderful marriage. Even in 1998, the small town I was from saw it as newsworthy enough to make us the subject of a full column, so I can just imagine the reactions to this couple 25 years ago. Happy Anniversary!

Congrats to the happy couple! I met my (now ex)-husband on IRC in 1990 (together for 16, married for 13) and people always told us we were the first, but I guess not after reading this :D But heck, at least we didn't have to answer questions like "what's a computer?"! Happy Anniversary!

All our friends said it wouldnt last too,:-)
We are livin large in CalEEfornia now, well as large as you can be with $4+ gas and $500 per month airplane hanagars!

My husband and I met in 1999 in an online game. We didn't get the "it'll never work" comments, but lots of wierd looks and implied comments about the "strange" way we met. We've been together 8 years and still going strong!
