Well....I wandered over to a Bruce Springsteen forum expecting that the people commenting would be much like those at the last concert of his I attended. I have been greatly disappointed.
When the songs the East Street Band played were quiet, the audience listened quietly and was respectful. When the music grew animated, the audience grew animated - many standing and swaying to the music and clapping or snapping fingers in time to the music.
I thought that this is the generation in which I was raised - one which was, at least outwardly respectful.
This is what I anticipated when I came here.....
Instead, I have seen vicious ranting, expletives that should be deleted, denigration of various classes of people, animosity that is obvious, not to mention grammar that would make S. I. Hayakawa turn over in his grave.
I can, as can many, appreciate all kinds of music. From Rogers & Hammerstein to Whitney Houston to Heart to Nirvana, Hendrix, The Fray, Luciano Pavrotti, and yes - Kenny Chesney has some good music too.
I immensely enjoy the music of Bruce Springsteen with or without the East Street Band.
His personal life, while interesting, has absolutely nothing to do with his music.
I do not believe I will be coming back here again however.
I can easily accept opinions that differ from mine and I agree that everyone is entitled to theirs. What I have issues with are those who cannot respect others opinions. You do not have to agree or like those opinions......but, respect - well, that is something entirely different. That is called "Troll"ing. Please google the term for its meaning.
Sadly, I'm sure someone will flame me for my opinion....:(
