I'm not jealous of Oprah. Good for her, making that kind of money. What I don't like is the way she flaunts it. I would bet anything that she's not informing her selected guests that they're going to be on the hook for a lot of money in income taxes for the Australia trip. I also didn't like the way she highjacked Michigan Ave. She couldn't care less about the inconvenience she cause many many people that day. It's all about her.

Oprah doesn't flaunt. She gives. People of a certain background are jealous that she has to give and she does and they don't and if they did have they wouldn't.

But the gifts she gives have legal strings attached. I knew a woman who won one of the Pontiac G6's. She was so happy because she desperately needed a car. She had to sell the car to pay the taxes. And look how well that school she opened in Africa turned out.

I doubt that 300 people could all take off like that without some kind of notice. How about a single mother with no one to pick up her kids from daycare? Or, the sole provider for their family, will get fired from their job if they just take off.
