There's two ways to lower unemployment stats, one is to employ more people than you're laying off (for the WEEK ending Feb. 4 358,000 NEW CLAIMS), the other is to reduce the available jobs 'pool'. Every time a person exhausts his unemployment benefits, he's removed from the 'pool'. 1.5 million of those (this doesn't include people who gave up looking) were removed last month. For the same period, the government said they "created" 243,000 jobs, yet the unemployment rate miraculously came down .2%. See how it works?

You are correct The present administration should have spinners on all gov vehicles,that is about the only thing they are not spinning out.

You haven't been paying attention. If you want to be believed, you have to lie big, really big. For example, you claim Obama spent a lot of money. Instead claim Obama spent more money in the first 30 seconds of his administration that exists in the world. Say that before he finished his oath of office, he had put the US in so much debt, that it would take a million years of the best economy ever to even pay the interest.

My husband has pretty much stopped posting on topix, mostly because of it's painfully hard right dominance that makes honest and intelligent debate an exercise in futility.

It's almost comical. Today all the talking heads are reading from the same script about Obama's budget. A few minutes ago I heard Pete Sessions say that Obama is spending 20% on foreign aid. Sarah Palin said the same thing a few minutes later.

Anyone who has bothered to look at the actually numbers, knows that it's actually about 1%. The data is free to everyone. The White House website shows it detail. Or the CBO website. Or any one of several sources that are non-political.

By the end of the day, they'll gravitate in concert to another lie that they aren't smart enough to research or verify. They don't care that they don't know.

But it doesn't matter. The small-minded right-wing hacks on this forum (who speak for much of the republican party) hate Obama more than they love America.

Republican states who elect Republicans receive the most Federal welfare, and Democrat states who elect Democrats receive the least federal welfare.

Republicans are truly the welfare Queens and Kings but preach the loudest against welfare and Democrats.

I assume you're talking about the Southern states? With huge black Democrat populations that disproportionally receive this government assistance because they've been taught to depend on the goverment to take care of them? Or is that too politically incorrect of a statistical truth to state?
