I bought a few. I also realized after that I didn't NEED to buy them to pass the class. Most from that point on I was able to check out at the public library. Even if they didn't carry it, they could get it from another library. Go ahead. Make the call. If you have a MI library card, they will find it for you too.

barefoot2626 wrote: <quoted text> Ah... here he said is **only** concern was to **pass** the class. Notice it was not to excel- to keep his (supposed) 3.9 GPA. Oh, MY! You've been busy today. Congrats. You found a contradiction. Passing the class was the MAIN concern. But I also take pride in everything I do. I wanted to do good in all my classes. I also knew a C wouldn't mean the end of the world. One can study and memorize alot of things. They can get all A's doing this too. That doesn't mean they really "learned" the material. I think it's more important to "learn" than to memorize. The short-term goal is to do well and "excel." The long-term goal is to pass the class and ultimately earn the degree. I tend to think long-term.

I never said it took me four years to graduate. Got brain overload today? I said there was a span of four years where I could not take ANY classes because of my work schedule. It took me a hell of alot longer than four years to graduate! That happens when you work alot of hours. Doesn't matter though, because I don't even work in my field of study. Initially, it was "something to fall back on" if I ever lost my job. Like I said, I think long-term. I'm not one who would live in constant fear of losing my job, like so many other people who do nothing to prepare for that day. I prepared for it and I'm ready when and if it happens.

Dee Lay wrote: <quoted text>Fact is, what Obama's FORCED DOWN OUR THROATS is UNSUSTAINABLE. He is BANKRUPTING this great nation, and you IDIOTS ON THE LEFT just think we can keep doling it out. Healthcare in America did not need to be socialized. It needed to be restructured, from the ground up. Fact is, more people will die under Obamacare than they ever would have if we had just left things the way they were. His first move was to ROB Medicare of 500 billion dollars, MONEY THAT THE ELDERLY PAID INTO ALL THEIR LIVES AND RELIED ON. That's improving their care? Plain fact is, you simply cannot put 37 million new people into socialized healthcare by paying a diminishing number of qualified doctors less money and improve the circumstance. You simply cannot remove 500 billion dollars from Medicare and strangle Medicaid, and not expect 100's of thousands of private health groups and facilities that were struggling to go under... as they are in record numbers now. You cannot have a myriad of new government administrators enforcing their will on what procedures and policies and medications doctors prescribe without watering down healthcare significantly. They KNEW all this. It's what they want... for OLD PEOPLE TO DIE YOUNG. For the dreggs and sloth of society to have their health insurance paid for by the middle class hard-working American. And to have the ability to FORCE every church and faith in America to pay for the government-induced abortion of babies. This is 1934 Germany and the National Socialist Party of Germany all over again. Only difference is that it's not Hitler dictating to the Reichstag, it's Obama dictating to Congress. And YOU idiots are just TOO stupid to discern ANY of this. EMTALA is Section 1867(a) of the Social Security Act, and is codified within the section of the U.S. Code which governs the Medicare program. "EMTALA applies only to "participating hospitals" under Medicare — i.e., to hospitals which have entered into "provider agreements" under which they will accept payment from the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Medicare program for services provided to beneficiaries of that program. In practical terms, this means that it applies to virtually all hospitals in the U.S., with the exception of the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children and many military hospitals. Its provisions apply to all patients, and not just to Medicare patients.(See question 15.) The avowed purpose of the statute is to prevent hospitals from rejecting patients, refusing to treat them, or transferring them to "charity hospitals" or "county hospitals" because they are unable to pay or are covered under the Medicare or Medicaid programs. This purpose, however, does not limit the coverage of its provisions" Ronald Reagan?

Raptor in Michigan wrote: <quoted text> Thank you. I know the more insults that come from the likes of you, the better I look. LOL. I don't know about the school you went to, but my professors actually gave lectures, most of which came from the BOOK. Those of us who actually graduated from college know that textbooks- at least in good colleges- accompanied the classes, that often those who taught barely referred to the textbooks, i.e., reading the textbook was expected of the students as a baseline of knowledge from where the professor began the lecture. Maybe things are different at the online "college" you attended. Did you get a frame included or was that an extra $10?

You can't keep track of your own lies, don't expect me too. Seems like you have a comprehension problem to me. It IS a fact I never "had to" buy them. I only realized that AFTER my first year. My first class was astronomy. I aced that class and most of the material on the tests was taken right from notes from the lectures. As a side note, my first year of college started at age 29. I was much older and wiser than most of the other students. I figured out quickly at that age I didn't have to go along with the crowd. Nor could I because I had a mortgage and I wasn't prepared to lose my home to earn my degree. I found ways to save on expenses any way I could.

I have yet to post any lies here. But I am sorry if I didn't post my whole life story in the very first post so that you wouldn't have to try to figure things out on your own. Sure, I bought some of the books in the beginning. Then I figured out it wasn't necessary to pass the classes. From then on I always called the library to see if they could get me the required text. Worked very well for me. If they didn't have it, they found it at a different library and had it delivered.
