I told you nothing of the sort. I never mentioned Pope Pius XI.
And you like to put "if" in front of things so you can take them back later.

Review: the Pope met with NAZIs. I spelled out his name and told you when.

Hitler was a Christian- a Catholic- no matter how hard you whine and cry and stamp your feet. Germany was (and still is) a nation of Christians- over 90 percent in 1930s. NAZIs were Christians, the more fervent the NAZI the more fervent the Christian.

Mob rule being a phrase that does have multiple meanings, yes, very astute and thank you for admitting you were wrong.

In English, a mob is a large (usually vocal) group of people.

Look it up.

A person's religious views have little to do with their political affiliation, putting aside an atheist has no religious affiliation, by definition.

The Monarch is apolitical and has no powers except those allowed by Parliament. Her job is to listen to speeches and make state visits so the PM doesn't have to.

I am not particularly pro-monarchy, by the way. British people are citizens...

This is not the place to compare 'constitutional monarchy' with 'republic'. Horses for courses perhaps.

The point I really wanted to make was how religion is damaging the USA and, through its influence, damaging for the world.

Of course, the UK has its problems too, including an established 'Church of England' and bishops in an unelected upper house - again the fault of religionists in government.(Atheist Nick Clegg tried hard to reform it recently).

More seriously, the religionists in our reactionary government are determined to allow religiously denominated schools that tend to segregate children according to the religious delusions of their parents. Children should be educated together.

The UK also suffers from Creationists who are sometimes funded by US groups. On the whole though, I think Brits are less religious than USAmericans.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12799801
More importantly perhaps, few people seem to take Abrahamic religions so seriously. Who believes that Jesus literally died for our sins? That is literally stupid.

Don't listen to Barefoot and Downhill. Only so much can be gathered from polls. I have tried to correct their odd perceptions before but they seem unalterably convinced that religion is important to most British people. I live here. I thought you might be genuinely wish to know.

Must say that you do speak some sense there.

I would venture a guess that atheists do tend to lean to the liberal side - black rights, women's rights, abortion, gay rights, economic reform, etc. Would like to see a poll like that, actually

Still waiting for you to prove religion is damaging to the USA.

Did you make this point on another forum?

Putting aside England has an OFFICIAL state religion and your church appoints members to Parliament and you have required religious worshiping, etc., etc... and you want to tell us how religion is damaging in the USA?

Here's a thought: start with explaining how religion is damaging the UK- since, obviously, you have state laws protecting and even compelling religion and religious causes.

Then you can start lecturing us in the USA... where we have a constitutional separation.

Make sure you remember to mention you don't have a constitution...

So I once again factually destroy barefoot. Notice I unlike him am able to answer questions instead of cowering away.

That's checkmate barefoot and you know it. All too easy I do wish you could at least put up a smidgen of a fight. No such luck though. Allow me to once again stump Barefoot for everyone's amusement.

So Barefoot after all this time have you finally put together what God you believe in? If so name please.

Inability to provide the name of the God you believe in results in yet another defeat on your part. Have an answer yet or shall I as usual accept your surrender?

You do remember you have a STATE RELIGION?

Before you blame the US for this "suffering" (putting aside you can't prove it because it doesn't happen).

Rolling around, stomping your feet, Pew poll posted, sourced, link given, and people who have never agreed with anything I have said in the last year have already said you were wrong.

Maybe if you stomp your feet harder and scream "I win, mommy! I win I win I win!" a little louder?

I gathered it ('my' numbers)from the official UK census.

And you haven't been able to refute ANYTHING I have said.

Do you want me to go down the list?

Starting with your official state religion?

Subjects.

You live in a monarchy, you have a queen as the head of state.

Rolling around on the ground kicking your feet doesn't change this.

(e.g., quote):
The poll also shows that 60% of British adult voters prefer to see themselves as citizens and only 32% describe themselves as "royal subjects" despite the fact all adults in Britain share that constitutional status.
(/q)

Your best bet here is to acknowledge THIS FACT or I will continue to stuff it up your colon.

Just because a website refers to you sometimes as "citizen" doesn't make it so.

The USA = has citizens, not subjects, we are not a monarchy.

UK = monarchy.

I would venture that there may be more "left" atheists than right, but would suggest (sort of a type of tail wagging the dog) that is more a Christian "right wing" influence, if you were to gather a bunch of atheists together, as they are more like to examine and reject "traditional" values.

Brit bashing?

I am a person who deals in facts- I understand, you don't give facts a second thought.

It is not bashing Brits to say that they are subjects, not citizens, this is a fact.

It is not bashing Brits to say they have a state religion, this is a fact, their state religion is "Church of England". This is a fact.

It is not bashing Brits to say the Church of England appoints members to their Parliament, this is a fact.

It is not bashing Brits to say that the UK PM crawls around and bows down to the Queen and pledge allegiance to her, not the other way around, or to point out someone who says otherwise is a liar.

Facts: they are not your friends.

But then: who is?
