<quoted text>Yes, we understand neo-cons. They never acknowledge their own economic ignorance. Too bad that a real conservative, Pat Buchanan was not elected in 2000 instead of that phoney conservative neo-con Bush. Voting for Buchanan in 2000 was hardly an act of liberalism on my part. I haven't forgotten the ruins the economy was in in 1974 to 1975 with both inflation and unemployment at very high levels. Unemployment under Carter was never higher than 7.8% and he left office with the same rate of unemployment he started out with in 1977.
You need to check your numbers. Bush's average was 6.4 and only went above that once.

I am not so sure Hillary would have been an upgrade. Somehow I had this eerie feeling that she was somewhat akin to the devil incarnate. I suspect that she would have gone after religious freedom in a mighty way. Did you forget her "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child" which is far more radical than anything Obama ever proposed. "Hillarycare" was even more radical than Obamacare. While her husband was not an honorable man as shown by his extracurricular flings with the ladies, I never have considered him and evil man without compassion of any kind. Hillary on the other hand strikes me as one who might pat you on the back with one hand and stab you in the back with the other.

The big difference is that Carter was at 7.5% and slowly trending downward from a peak of 7.8% when he left office and Bush was at 7.7% and climbing rapidly. If his term limit hadn't ended when it did, it likely would have significantly exceeded the peak of 7.8% under Carter. It might be interesting to note that the average unemployment during the Carter administration was lower than either his predecessor or successor, both GOP. Dubya inherited a 4.2% unemployment rate and left a 7.7% rate. Carter started and ended at 7.5%

Ford avg. 8.1%

Carter avg. 6.5%

Reagan avg. 7.5%

Correction, liberals and Republicans are ruining the United States.

Conservatives will just have to be the "responsible parents" to these unruly children that are used to doing what they want, when they want with daddy's FREE credit card.

Time for the non-producers to GROW UP, or face REAL consequences.

Good start is required passage of a drug test for ANY public assistance or benefits.

Tapper: Media Failing Country
White House reporter Jake Tapper said that the media is failing the country.

"A lot of people are hurting out there. Unemployment is 8.3 percent. That doesn’t even take into account the underemployed,” he said, arguing that too much time has been spent not talking about the economy.
Tapper also criticized the media for not giving enough attention to the war in Afghanistan.

"We are spending a lot of time in the last few weeks, those of us in the political world, political journalists and also politicians, talking about things other than the economy," said Tapper. "[A] lot of people are hurting out there. I’d like to see more action taken and more emphasis given to this issue.”

Tapper also said he relates to Mark Halperin's recent comments about the media. Over the weekend, Halperin said, "I think the press still likes this story a lot, the media is very susceptible to doing what the Obama campaign wants, which is to focus on this."

"I have said before…[that I] thought the media helped tip the scales. I didn’t think the coverage in 2008 was especially fair to either Hilary Clinton or John McCain," Tapper said.
On the 2008 coverage, he noted, "Sometimes I saw with story selection, magazine covers, photos picked,[the] campaign narrative, that it wasn’t always the fairest coverage."

<quoted text>Reagan ran up more debt in 8 years than ALL of the previous presidents put together. That is not my idea of deficit reduction. Between him and Papa Bush, in 12 years the national debt was quadrupled in 12 years. Eight years of Clinton dramatically slowed the growth of our National Debt. Dubya undid all that progress in short order and now Obama, like the closet liberals Reagan and both Bushes seems to be clueless about how to reduce the runaway nationaldebt. Dubya's last budget request was for 3.1 trillion dollars of spending in the fiscal year that yielded only 2.1 billion dollars in budget receipts. My math calculates that to a trillion dollar shortfall which is fairly close to the size of the deficits Obama is running. Obama foolishly ramped up spending at a time when our deficits were growing, so he gets no free pass from me either. Dubya and Barry were no different from each other as far as economic responsibility. Dubya even boasted that he was trying to emulate Reagan.
Now let us examine Congress. On one side, we have Pelosi and Co., and on the other side Boehner and Co and between them, they are all clueless about fixing our economy. The Republicans in Congress during Republican administrations gave Reagan and both Bushes nearly every dollar they asked for. A Democrat takes office and suddenly and magically they morph into supposed budget hawks. Where were they when Cheney uttered the irresponsible remark that deficits don't matter? The Democrats at the same time keep proposing new programs that we can't afford.
You do realize that Reagan and Bush also ran up record revenues as well. Both had wars, Bush had 9/11 and Reagan had the cold war, yet there were jobs. With Obama he has one war he escalated, 5.5 trillion debt and virtually everyone suffering.

Record revenues do not necessarily mena lower unemployment rates and certainly did nothing to prevent Reagan and Papa Bush between them to quadruple the national debt from all presidents combined prior to Reagan. Revenue means nothing unless compared to expenditure by the government and Reagan and Pop Bush came up wanting with fiscal responsibility.

Me take a butt wacking? You have been smoking too much wacky tobacky. It's not my but that was kicked by Topix moderators. Even they thought you went much too far with your stierscheiss and removed many of your posts and it usually nearly takes an act of God to get a post removed on Topix. What do you have to say for yourself now, LOLser?

Apparently I was not the only one who thought your posts were absolutely tasteless spam (pun intended). You are still too thick to get the clue.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Capricorn

You're keen to look on the bright side of things and to ignore anything unpleasant or worrying. That's fine, provided that you're ready to face up to life's difficulties again tomorrow.
