Harry Reid is a dirty hustler. He knows he lied, what he didn't expect was how many Americans know he lied, and are speaking out about it. Democrats always over reach.

Once upon a time, not to long ago, a political appointee told me I didn't understand the purpose of government. He told me it's purpose it to give public money to the politician's friends. That's why he was on the payroll.

Actually, if Senator Reid is telling the truth it's even more serious, I think, since -- if Romney had not paid taxes for a decade -- Reid's "reliable source" would have to be either someone in the IRS, or a Romney accountant, either of whom would have broken confidentiality rules. DOJ should launch an investigation and subpoena Reid re: his source. Then let Reid either reveal his source and allow prosecution to take place agaisnt the source, or let Reid keep his secret and get locked up for contempt of court. BTW, I have not yet decided how to vote in November. Governor Romney's stated views have inclined me to vote third party, but when people like Reid pull stupid stunts like this, i become more inclined to vote for Romney.

Poor teabaggers.

They have been slinging so many lies, accustions and B.S. about Obama for so long without a shred of proof, they get pissy when the tables are turned.

If I were Mitt, I would sue Harry.

He then would have to reveal his source and Mitt would finally have to reveal those tax returns in question.

SO..........Why doesn't Mitt do that?

The Democrats should have had someone other then Reid try to pull off the "Mitt didn't pay taxes for 10 years," fairy tale, because Reid has no credibility. He went to the Senate as a pauper, and now after a few short years is a multi billionaire, as are his sons through Daddy's schemes. Beside that it is more important to voters that Obama has not helped create enough jobs to bring unemployment down below 8% in 42 months, then to see Romney's tax returns. Notice Democrats have left old Harry out there to hang by himsef. If true that is a serious allegation to make, and no prominent Democrat is backing Harry up. The Democrats are truly desperate.

ONE WAY to show Reid is wring, one way, release the tax returns!!!!

Even McCain wouldn't pick him for VP after seeing those returns, even McCain wouldn't justify someone earning +20 Mil and paying no taxes!

Romney noted Monday in an appearance on “Fox and Friends” that releasing tax returns is voluntary and painted the Obama campaign’s demands as unreasonable. The president’s reelection team has repeatedly questioned why Romney was willing to furnish John McCain with 23 years of tax returns in 2008, while being vetted as a potential running mate, but is unwilling to share the same documents with the public.

Romney criticized Obama for a recent barrage of attacks on his business record, saying the president is unable to run on his own record.

“The president only has one thing going, and that is constant attacks on me,” Romney said.“They’re dishonest. They’re misdirected. And I think the American people recognize that kind of politics as something of the past. It may work in Chicago, but it’s not going to work across America.”

What business record?

No one has ever seen it.

Oh' that's right, John has, he took a pass, so should America.

Dear Swiss Mitt apologist:

The man wants the job of running this great country, commander in chief, highest office in not only this land but the world.

Are you saying the response "trust me, I paid all my taxes" is sufficient when it comes to this job???

Especially when he has said that before!!

" This was ten years ago. Ultimately, the residency challenge failed to keep Mr. Romney off the ballot in Massachusetts. Democrats tried it, but it did not work. But,[what] they were able to uncover about his tax history, in trying to prove that he wasn't really a Massachusetts resident, showed that what he said was in his tax returns was not actually what was in his tax returns. Mr. Romney maintained publicly for months, that he was a Massachusetts resident and he could prove it because he filed his taxes as a Massachusetts resident all those years. That's what he said was in his taxes. That was not what was in his taxes.

And he seems to have known it at the time, even as he was making public claims to the contrary. When he finally got called out in June of that year, he admitted that a few months earlier when he decided to run for Governor, earlier that Spring, he had started the process of retroactively going back and changing those returns. Mr. Romney had not filed as a resident of Massachusetts. He said he did, but he didn't. He mislead the public about it the whole time. And he mislead reporters who were trying to get to the truth about it. Quote Earlier in the week,[Mr. Romney] rejected a request by the Globe for copies of his returns with financial information redacted, but his residential status visible. A Romney spokesman insisted at that time the GOP candidate had filed his returns as a Massachusetts resident, but told the Globe reporter,“You’re going to have to take my word for it.”[See Romney says he didn’t file as Mass. resident in ’99-’00, The Boston Globe, June 07, 2002]

So, while running for Governor of Massachusetts, Romney actually lied to the public until he got caught. How do we know he's not lying to us now when he's running for President?

"You’re going to have to take my word for it. It's really important what's in those tax returns but I'm not going to show them to you. Trust me about what's in them." After the truth started coming out, Mr. Romney eventually said then to The Globe, just like he's saying to ABC now, that he would get them all the information that they wanted. "sure, sure, I'll get you what you need." But even though he said that to the reporter, face to face, he did not. He absolutely shut them down, just like he's shutting down ABC ten years later.

Video of ABC News Report: ABC News reached out to the campaign today after Romney's answer. A spokesperson would only reiterate, "Mitt Romney has paid his taxes in full compliance with U.S. Law, and he has paid 100 percent of what he has owed." [Gail Gitcho, Communications Director]

"Trust me. You're going to have to take my word for it. Just like trust me when I said I've always filed taxes as a Massachusetts resident, except for those years where you caught me not doing that and I had to retroactively go back and change them."

Does Romney think we're stupid or something?"

The man cannot not LIE, and Trust me has been used before to prove, he shouldn't be trusted!!!

If you vote for this man, you have to be brain dead!

No. I am not saying trust me. I am saying it is none of Reids business. There is alredy ample information out there for the American people to use to decide their vote, and in fact they already have done so. The Conventions, and the debates will give them a chance to chang their minds if they so choose. Reid is using a diveresion to keep us from examining Obama's dismal economic record. It isn't working. All Reid did was to make us aware of just how very desperate the Democrats really are about the election. So all the people who want to ee Romney's tax returns vote Democrat, the rest of us will vote for a brighter future for the country.

It is exactly the peoples business, take it from Rmoney's dad!

" When Mitt’s father George Romney, a former governor of Michigan and auto executive, released 12 years of his tax returns during his campaign for the 1968 Republican nomination, they showed his tax rate varied from 45.8% to 16.5% and averaged 37% over the period.

Tax rates were generally higher then, but it’s probably safe to say that his son’s average tax rate for the past 12 years would be much, much lower.

The senior Romney took the unusual step of releasing so many tax returns because, as he observed at the time,“one year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show.”

That’s pretty much what Mitt Romney’s critics suspect about his 2010 tax return, which shows a tax rate of 13.9%, compared with 26% paid by President Barack Obama."

It's Reid's business and every one else in this country's business!

Because " Dirty Harry " did it at the podium of the U.S. Senate which exempts him from slander suits which was why " Dirty Harry " did it from there and not outside the protection of the Senate Chamber.

BTW , rumor has it Obama received a Fullbright scholarship as a foreign student.

I don't believe it but it would be nice if Obama tried to dispell rumors would release his college transcripts and records.

No, it is not the people's business at all. Romney already showed all the tax returns he is required by law, Harry can go scratch himself. You can sit around and talk about Romneys tax returns, we will look forward to a brighter future under a Romney Administration. We are discussing the worst recession recovery in the history of the country.

Earlier this week Harry Reid made a claim, based on no evidence and with only some anonymous source, that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for ten years. He was asked if he wanted to walk back this baseless claim and not only did he refuse to do so, he actually doubled down on the accusation.

I am not basing this on some figment of my imagination,” Reid said in a telephone call with Nevada reporters.“I have had a number of people tell me that”

Soooo, he was on the phone with reporters, while on the podium of the U.S. senate?

THAT, would be a first.

I'm sure it would be a bigger story than the accusation.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid used the T-shirt gun of unsubstantiated claims in an interview with The Huffington Post, saying a former Bain investor told him that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years, hence the lack of disclosure:

"His poor father must be so embarrassed about his son," Reid said, in reference to George Romney's standard-setting decision to turn over 12 years of tax returns when he ran for president in the late 1960s.

Saying he had "no problem with somebody being really, really wealthy," Reid sat up in his chair a bit before stirring the pot further. A month or so ago, he said, a person who had invested with Bain Capital called his office.

"Harry, he didn't pay any taxes for 10 years," Reid recounted the person as saying.

"He didn't pay taxes for 10 years! Now, do I know that that's true? Well, I'm not certain," said Reid. "But obviously he can't release those tax returns. How would it look?

"You guys have said his wealth is $250 million," Reid went on. "Not a chance in the world. It's a lot more than that. I mean, you do pretty well if you don't pay taxes for 10 years when you're making millions and millions of dollars."

Another slanderous interview, why doesn't Romney sue?
