Hotel Monarch- OOty

Dera Friends I got married on 26th March and purposely chose Ooty as a homenymoon destination so that I could also go and pay homage to one of Mithun Da's creations- The MOnarch Hotel- Ooty. True to word, the hotel is really majestic.. I had goose pimples as I approached the place. Its is a sprawling building in the middle of hills..on the main desk you have a nuber of awards that Dada has won over the years. The one that particularly interested me was the Limca Book record he received in 1999 for record 19 releases in a single year. My wife and I had a candle lit dinner there and it really was a great occasion.

Dear Ms. Kiran
I am not sure from where you have got your facts coz as far as I am concerned, that is not true at all. I saw the office where Mithun Da comes and does business whenever he is in Ooty and all the butlers and chefs I talked to had very high opinions on what a gracious and generous employer Mithun Da is.
I guess you are wasting yours and others' time by venting your vitriol on Mithun Da here. This is a community to Mithun Da lovers and while critical analysis of his works are most welcome, downright mud slinging must be avoided at all costs. By the way, where you live (USA), black Indian like you are also considered second rate..Trust me, I have travelled enough in this world (18 countries incluidng your US of A) to know what is what.

Dear Lady Kiran
Its nice you brought up the thing about not cleaning up the mess and all..what about you? Instead of cleaning the mess in India, you ran away to USA (leaving the cleaning job to Madrasis like me- which incidently I am not) and for all we know, you might be a glorified janitor at some third rate univ/hospital fooling yourself with your american dream..
Having confidence in one's own abilities is one thing, but to demean others' is foolishness... I left US long ago not coz I hated illiterate American Born Confused Desis like you, but coz I wanted to give something back to my country (a concept you incidently wont understand coz to you everyone living in Hydi is a dosa eating Madrasi!)..Your post brings out interesting personality traits about you and clearly its a sick and withered personality you have which you also probably understand else, why would you waste your and others' time venting your vitriol which is meant to celebrate a true son of the soil- Mithun. FYI, for 4 consecutive years starting 1995, Mithun was India's highest Tax payer (go check the records); he employs about 100 odd people in his hotel and also has a Hotel Management and business management school running at OOty- thus employing 100s more..Surely, doing sufficient enough to drown the cringing, complaining and desperate for attention voices of distressed souls such as yourself.

Come, eat and enjoy: Here the bananas are big, delicious and always very hard.Rejoice!!!Your banana fantasies will be materialised here.We will "banana" you well here.

Why Kiran,Bobby etc ( one and the same person) is so upset about Mithun? In the 80's his/her( identity cannot be defined-neither male nor female) mum a famous bar dancer ,who played a short role in a Mithun's film Patita , wanted to eat Mithun's banana. The latter threw her away.So she went to see Prem Chopra -Kiran was born.

Hi,
I have been a fan of Mithun Chakraborty since I was 12 years old when I first saw Disco Dancer in 1984. It has been my dream to see him some day. Now I have decided to visit India, I live in US, I tried to read all I could find to get info about Mithun's whereabouts. All I can find is that he lives in Ooty. Well... I will be traveling to Ooty in 2008. I will stay at Monarch with my family. Does anyone have any idea where Mithum can be found? I will be flying thousands of miles and I really hope I can see him. Please help. I appreciate any information I can get.
Thanks a lot!

I have been an avid fan of Mihunda since my schooldays. I am now a lecturer in English in a reputed college but still when I get an opportunity I do not miss his films. I believe that he is an institution by himself and his contribution to films cannot be paralled by anyone. He has done a Disco Dancer a Mrigayya, he has done a Boxer a Tahader Katha. His depiction of Ramkrishna Paramansh in the film Swami Vivekananda cannot be matched by anyone. His films like Ghulami, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Bepanah, Aandhi Toofan etc. will always remain evergreen. For me he was the best, is the best and will always remain the best.
