If I live recklessly why would I force my blood onto an unsuspecting car accident victim who needs blood.
Do unto others, what you do to yourself, is more like.

I think the point of the question is being missed. It doesn't say "if you're a *GAY* man..."; it says "if you're a man...". Read into any way you want, the fact remains the question is directed at MEN - straight, gay, or bi.
Certain behaviors are considered high risk. Male-male sexual contact is considered high risk for HIV/AIDS as is tatoo/body piercing from a non-licensed establishment. Yes, the blood centers perform every test possible but testing is not 100% accurate. A virus can be in its infant-stage (if you will) and undetectable.
All sexually active people should be responsible and get tested for HIV every year -- and at their own expense. You should NEVER donate blood as a means of getting a free test, and sadly some potential donors do attempt this.

While I do agree with not accepting blood from a wide variety of groups of people, gay individuals are not part of them. HIV/AIDS related issues are not a gay person's problem; No matter what your sexual preference is, you run the risk of contracting the virus.
No technology that exists in this day in age will detect anything 100% of the time. If we went with that line of thinking, no one would be giving blood. Reduce chances of problems by eliminating the most risky groups of people. Gays are not at the top of the list, by far.
Maybe you should take a look at the statistics.
Male to male contact is one of the biggest contributors.
I would say that could be a big problem for a gay male.
I didn't make this up!! Look it up yourself.
Anyone can be irresponsible and and up with HIV/AIDS. Some actions make it more risky

Looking at this nice looking young man, who is obviously of some minority background, I find it laughable and incredulous for him to state that "This is the first time I've ever felt discriminated against". Anyone, anywhere in this great United States who is of any visible ethic background has experienced discrimination. It appears to me he is just "tooting his horn for the "cause"".

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
