I am sorry Mike but SNL today has no talented actor's no talented writers and is not as witty and intelligent as the one that the original cast was on nor the cast you were on. I miss Phil Hartman. I don't miss Chris Farley, he didn't have anwhere near the talent as Belushi.

Amy Peoler needs to remove herself from Hillary Clinton's ass.
She could have had a really funny sketch about the Bosnia "mispeaks" similar to what they did to Kerry flip flops, but instead she continues to use the "press is against Hillary" theme.
I won't be watching SNL anytime soon.

May 3 - Lorne Michaels and writers think watching an old guy make out with a 20 something fat guy is humor - it's gross, unappealing, and most of all, just NOT FUNNY, like the rest of the show. This show is such a waste of time. Darrell Hammond is the only true talent left, and he should run off like the rest of former successful SNL actors.

Mike Myers is about as funny as all the other pre snlers who went out on their own and tried to be funny.
They only had great comedic timing when they did not have control of scripts and other decisions in the filmaking proccess.
SNL seems to crank out a lot of childish actors and actresses, very few are exceptions to the rule, and even when they are an exception, their other character flaws destroy them anyway.
SNL is a proving ground for adults who want to act like children.
It always has been and it always will be.
Case in point, Chevy Chase whose wife left him because of his childish lifestyle.
Everyone is acting shocked at how bad the movies of Meyers and Sandler and others have become, however, if you buy into the childish potty humor of most of SNL, then they only expect moviegoers to accept any childish filth they throw at the American public.

I want to make another statement, having given my heart another day to ponder this.
To further bolster my case I will say that none of the comedy on SNL has any positive effect on society.
Do not get me wrong, the monies of many actors and actresses involved with SNL has been put in some helpful places, however, that is not what I am talking about.
I am stating that comedy that makes you laugh, that is good comedy, can make you laugh later without any regret that you laughed in the first place.
Most of the comedy, I would boldly say at least 92% of all snl written comedy is comedy that only makes you laugh until you think about the cost of the laughs on society and how comedy used to belittle or hurt the reputations of any people or societal groups cease to be funny when it has a negative impact on how people think.
That is why most of the famous pre-snlers are relegated to the five dollar dvd bin at WalMart.
I would even be so bold as to say that many people reading this probably have something in their collection of a former snler, and they can go pick up the dvd, look at it and say,"Why did I ever buy this?"
This country is producing an entire generation of comics who have that "Laugh at any expense mentality."
I was flipping around on some cable and watched this show called "Bananas" from Canada I think and I was amazed!
None of the comics swore or made fun of people in a harmful way and I laughed until it hurt.
Then I remembered listening to the old Hose Jimenez routines on LPS as a kid and how they are still super funny today. He did not swear or hurt people either.
I am getting older, and as I age I am tired of dirty and hurtful humor and I for one will not support it, nor watch it.
SNL is garbage.

Last night (Oct 5, 2008) was another perfect example of why SNL is so pathetic. Because their writers are all a bunch of left-wing radicals, they just cannnot resist bashing Sarah Palin. These people are genuinely afraid of this woman. No matter how much they want to try to present her as incompetent, the fact is that she has truly energized a very large segment of the voting populus. Their only tactic is to try to impune and mock her.

So this is like the fourth SNL where they are pimping Tina Fey's Palin act. OK OK, we get it, she looks like her. I was completely offended by it though because 1) it's not funny because she doesn't do any of the stuff that is mocked and 2) Palin is actually a breath of fresh air in this current political mix. Why tear down someone like that?

Even if you don't like Palin, or you're a Democrat, SNL has just simply not been funny since Ferril left. Even then, he was often the only one carrying the comedy. Of the current cast, there are only 2 faces that I might like to see in films and that actually have talent.

Sorry, but SNL is just not funny any more. It's nothing more than a left-wing propaganda outlet.

SNL has turned into crap. I think the whole Sarah Palin/Tina Fay coincidence put some new life into it, but that is the ONLY thing it has going for it. The sketches are not funny. It reminds me of SNL in the early/mid 90's. This makes me sad because I was a huge fan of SNL. I hope this is just another dark period in its long life.

That said, SNL is probably the worst show on network TV, and has been for the last 2-5 years. The fact that NBC is airing special "political humor" bits on Thursday nights shows that the network has lost it's freakin' mind. But then, this is the network that brought you "Deal or No Deal" 4 nights a week.

I used to watch SNL way back and found it quite enertaining.Then I stopped watching it for awhile.I recently tuned back in to the last 2 shows and it was completely awful.It wasn't even the least bit funny.I can't believe it's still made out to be some great show.It's just plain garbage now.

Maya Rudolph as Michelle Obama is ridiculous. They need a man in a dress with big hips. If they were not so busy kissing Obama's ass they would go for what is funny. I don't know what audience they think they are connecting with and their one sided, left wing crap is boring and insulting. Where are the free independent comedians and writers. Will Forte needs to grow a spine.

To understand why SNL sucks today, you need to look back to the early 90's when it went from greatness to the pathetic crap it is today. The greats all retired one by one, and then they fired Norm Macdonald, who was the only funny new guy to come along in a while. Why did they fire him, and then hire all these horrible amateurish comedians? Because there was some executive decision at some point that SNL was too controversial, the sponsors didnt like the sarcasm and how they made fun of commercials. And the media jews (Don't call me an anti-semite. everyone knows that jews control all the media) decided they wanted to kill this show for some reason. The show was INTENTIONALLY KILLED. there are plenty of good young comedians who COULD bring this show back to greatness, but they only want to hire amateurish mediocre ones instead. Basically, jewish media executives decided to kill the show, for reasons we probably will never get to know. Also, notice how the last funny cast, of the late 80's, early 90's, is not available on DVD anywhere. you cannot find those episodes on DVD, but you can find Hangin' with Mr.Cooper on DVD. The media jewes are trying to suppress the shows funny past to try to get the public to learn to be content with the contrived and mediocre.

Yes the show is terrible. Anyone who thinks that anything that Tina Fey has done is funny should probably have their laughing privileges taken away or else there would be laughter every time we saw a doornob.
I do have to disagree with some earlier points though. Someone said something about how something is only comedy if after you laugh at it you don't feel guilty about laughing at it. Well that is just stupid because apparently at that moment it was comedic to you which made you laugh. So apparently this would be more of a character flaw than a flaw in the comedy. Which, I guess would mean that you didn't find it wrong at the time and probably don't actually think it's wrong you just act like you do so you can be a "good and moral upstanding citizen."
I don't have a problem with childish humor. Why would you? Calling something childish is like saying your better than someone without giving a basis for what "good" or "better" is. It seems like most of you are fans of presupposing so we won't go any farther there.
