I sat behind the stage in the choral risers, just about center, and thought the sound was very good. Very clear strings (although at times a little sharp). There was, however, a buzzing feedback from the violins in the final movement of the Beethoven, as if the entire string section on the left side was vibrating. I wonder if that's normal in that location.

Finally! After endless reviews of the new halls in Miami, Nashville, Orange County and Toronto, someone actually tells us what one of these places sounds like.

That's because although we don't have the best opera company in the world or the best orchestra in the world (although the New World is awfully good on many nights), we do have one of the best music critics in the world. Top 3 things about South Florida classical music: Mike Tilson Thomas, Judy Drucker and Lawrence Johnson.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
