I think a peetest should be mandatory for all welfare recips each month before they get their benefits. if they are spending MY TAX DOLLARS on drugs, they and all their children should be banned for life. Even the casino's take the new welfare debit card.. and liquor stores.. etc. it sucks.. They have their benefits (cash and food stamps) electronically placed on a card, so they look like normal hard working people using a bank debit card... we can't violate their civil rights by having them actually pull out a food stamp and use it. Be sure to get out and vote Nov. 2

Kill the Bill, Prop 19 will drag our society down into degeneracy and decadence. What we need are real laws that will regulate the use of this psychoactive drug for medicinal purpose only and as prescribed by medical authority. Is it not surprising that the American Medical Association is not endorsing this proposition? NO ON PROP 19, WE DON'T NEED A POTHEAD SOCIETY!

A pothead society? So it is better to be a METH ADDICT or ALCOHOLIC? These things can & do kill over 1/2 our population and increase violence on all levels. Nowhere has there been a documented case of violence on any level with someone being under the influence of marijuana. FYO the Medical Association is endorsing this proposition because they just paid someone 1 million dollars for a particular marijuana strain for one of America's top Pharmeceutical Companies....

Then by all means, let's introduce another proposition to get rid of those two dangerous substances as well instead of using them as crutches to justify the use of pot. In other words, don't add any more problems to the existing ones.

Wake up Mary- just read the papers. There are many a report of people and violence associated with marijuana. And then point your finger at two other drugs in order to shift the blame......please. I have lived it on both sides, and I know what drugs do to people and how pot effects a large, very large majority of our children. So Mary, list your phone number here, and next time a pot head hasn't fed their child for hours and hours, or the heat has been turned off cause they didn't pay their bills cause they are so stoned, we can call you and you can come and spend your money on taking care of the problem. This way CPS can function at a higher level and have time for the Real Crimes- again....please. Smoke another one!

It's a good thing that the citizens of California are finally making the right decision to say No on drugs and since already illegal under federal law, the constitutionality of this drug ban will not be an issue in the federal courts unlike that politically charged gay marriage Proposition 8. When it comes to drugs and the future of our children, there should be no room at all for politics.

Russia's top drug official says CA legalizing pot would be 'catastrophic' http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2010/10... Russia's top drug official warned in an interview with Foreign Policy on Friday of what he called the "catastrophic" consequences of marijuana legalization measures like California's upcoming ballot initiative, saying darkly that widespread legal drug use would produce "psychiatric deviations" and will only encourage drug addiction. Viktor Ivanov, a former KGB officer and prominent member of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's inner circle, even took the unusual step of going to Los Angeles earlier this week to "conduct a campaign against legalizing marijuana in California," as he said in the interview.

I love how everyone who thinks they know what legalizing a plant less harmful than alcohol would do, are the same close minded morons who read the newspapers and believe what Fox News and ABC tells them. FACT: America is in dire financial straits. These "Politicians" you all "Voted" into office are constantly stealing public funds, taking kickbacks from third parties, and running our country into the ground. Yet, you are going to listen to these dishonest people and do what they tell the newspapers they think should happen? Really? It's time for change. It's time for liars to push their hidden agendas. Legalization will only help California financially. Sure a few thousand 18 year olds will start smoking because they can, oh wait they already do. Take away the mystique and the forbidden connotations associated with Pot, and the future generations will see it in a different light. A less subjective, pick your poison, Bourbon or wine, Marborols or Mary Jane, light. Keeping it underground is way worse in the long run. Give people the choice to say no, don't tell them they can't. That never works. Think for yourself.

People who do drugs suffer from low self esteem. They hate their life and use drugs as an escape and a way to cope.
