To Shut Up the Critics: What Obama's Done in a Year.

Consider the record:

A week before he was sworn in, Obama jammed part two of the bank bailout down the throat of his own party — a $350 billion accomplishment.

Two days after he was sworn in, Obama banned the use of "harsh interrogation" and ordered the closing of Guantánamo.

A day later, Obama reversed George W. Bush's funding cutoff to overseas family planning organizations — saving millions of lives with the stroke of a pen.

Three days after that, Obama gave a green light to the California car-emissions standards that Bush had been blocking for six years — an important step on the road to cleaner air and a cooler planet.

Two weeks after that, Obama signed the stimulus bill — a $787 billion accomplishment.

Ten days after that, Obama formally announced America's withdrawal from Iraq.

A week later — we're in early March now — Obama erased Bush's decision to restrict federal funding for stem-cell research.

In April and June, Obama forced Chrysler and GM into bankruptcy.

In June, Obama reset the tone of our relations with the entire Arab world with a single speech — an accomplishment that the Bush administration failed to achieve despite a series of desperate PR moves (anyone remember Charlotte Beers?) and a "public diplomacy" budget of $1 billion a year.

Also in June, Obama unveiled the "Cash for Clunkers" program, a "socialist" giveaway that reanimated the corpse of our car industry — leading, for example, to the billion-dollar profit that Ford announced on Monday.

I haven't even mentioned Sonia Sotomayor, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the order to release the torture memos, Obama's push for charter schools, his $288 billion tax cut, or the end of Bush's war on medical marijuana. Or the minor fact that he seems to have — with Bush's help, it must be said — stopped the financial collapse, revived the credit markets, and nudged the economy toward 3.5 percent growth in the last quarter.

Oh, and one more thing: President Obama is now a month or two from accomplishing the awesome and seemingly impossible task that eluded mighty presidents like FDR, LBJ, and WJC — health-care reform.

Guantanamo bay is still open.....

We are still in Iraq and will be till 2011.....

Cash for clunkers cost 24,000 of tax payer money for every car sold....

California is bankrupt.....

He bowed to an Arab leader....weakness

The stimulus bill has cost about 170,000 for every job created.....

Govenment spending is the reason for the jump in the GDP.....any expert will tell you that

Giving 350 billion to banks.....wonderful

Health care has NOT passed

Republicans know people are tired of their BS. So in order to win votes the Conservatives have to tear down Obama. They do it to all Democratic presidents. They still hate Carter and Clinton. But with Obama they do cross the line and are now becoming Racist and disrespectful.

Obama is going after CEO's and the outrageous pay some of them receive.
The dems are working on a bill to allow stock holders a chance to limit the pay of CEO's.

Obama has to move slowly against the Corporations because they do have friends in DC who protect them. The same goes for the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. the Military has to be pampered and praised before he is allowed to end those Wars.

He has destroyed the Democratic Party. Thats about all. Even New Jersey falls tonight. Not one Democrat has won an election tonight.

120 million dollars and Barry campaigning for Corzine in a heavy Democratic state has lost to a Republican. That is another violation of the law that Barry has broken. Nowhere in our constitution allows for the Government to set pay for private business.

the election for the House of Represenatives is in 2010. The Dems have a whole year to pass all their bills.

If you follow politics you would know that No political party in modern history holds onto absolute power more than one election cycle. The dems know that they'll loose seats in 2010.But by then it'll be toooooo late. The health Care bill is going to PASS.

You conservatives are just going to have to accept that all Americans will have Health Care.

So, as I read the list of alleged accomplishments, I thought the author was bashing Obama. It seemed the logical conclusion given the fact that most of the "accomplishments" he spoke of like:
-cramming $350 billion is bank bailouts
-ordering the closing of gitmo
-banning interrogation techniques which have been used to successfully defend this nation
-the stimulus bill
-cash for clunkers (more welfare), which was not his idea but a German program brought to his attention by Bruton Smith, a N.C resident who is a NASCAR track owner

are all going to turn out to be catastrophic for this nation in the end. Just remember, worse is change as well.

If he was able to pass it he already would have done it. He does not give a damn what the citizens want he just wants power. And the way to do it is to bring the country to its knees.

He should have used the recocilliation (nuke option) if he was gonna' get it passed. He had the votes to do it but after tonight any Dem in congress or the senate can see if they vote for the nuke option it will be the end of their political career.
