"Madonna reportedly laughed "hysterically" after being told her pop rival Mariah Carey had to cancel several tour dates due to poor ticket sales. The 'Hung Up' singer is said to have gleefully welcomed the news that Mariah had to shelve a host of US shows because of a lack of interest". It's funny. I love how Madonna enthusiasts can sit back and bash Mariah. They fail to notice the difference in performers. Mariah is known for her voice. Madonna has and always will be known for her act. You buy a Mariah album if you feel like listening; you see a Madonna show if you feel like watching. If rumors of Madonna looking down upon Mariah are true, it must be out of jealousy. In 16 years, Ms. Carey has amassed 17 number hits; more then any other artist in history with the exception of the Beatles, and has sold over 170 million albums. Isn’t it funny how an artist like Madonna; who’s been out for 21 years now, can’t say shes been able to accomplish similar feats? Now everyone get back on Myspace and find new drama to talk about. Madonna, before COAD, has sold 275 million records worldwide. Look it up, before you blow Mariah's flaccid ego any further. Here are other things Mariah is known for - studio enhanced vocals, plagarism payouts, going ape shit crazy, and discounting her records to pennies. Funny, for such an "accomplished" artist as Mariah who indeed has more #1 hits than Madonna (in the states, that is) no one remembers, or cares to, any of her interchangle work in any critical review. In short, Mariah couldn't be a pimple on Madonna's ass. It would require her to be somewhat noticable.

TOKYO — Some 80,000 tickets for Madonna's concerts in Tokyo and Osaka went on sale on Sunday and were sold out in five minutes, promoters said Monday. This tour will be the 47-year-old singer's first in 13 years in Japan, and her fans were waiting in line or calling up the ticket agency well in advance of the 10 a.m. start of sales. The most expensive seats sold for 50,000 yen.
In order to meet the demand, an additional concert will now be held in Tokyo on Sept 21 at Tokyo Dome, following the already sold out concert on Sept 16 in Osaka and Sept 20 in Tokyo. Mariah concert performance makes her ticket sales damn poor. I am lucky enough to say I went to the Mariah Concert 08/05/06. Let me just tell all the haters that no other voice in the world can bring tears to music lovers out of pure astonishment. The notes and the range are truly a gift from God. People who have negative things to say about Mariah's talent are just ignorant and musically disabled. Madonna is a performer. Mariah is a singer. She is talent. She is what the word talent represents. If you’re not sure or maybe blind, we can just put them in a studio together and watch Madonna crumble vocally. The Miami performance was unbelievable. She is flawless and truly the best singer out there. People were left amazed at her real life capability.

Mariah Carey is not a great performer. After three songs of her singing in a concert, im sure most people would already be bored. We know how she sings. Most people think its annoying. Madonna is a great performer. Let's say in a televised event, people would watch the whole concert; even if they weren't Madonna fans. That's why every young pop star wants to be like Madonna not Mariah. You hear comments from Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Kelly Osbourne, Kelly Clarkson, and any other young hitmakers want to be like Madonna when asked who they admire.
