the blues genre ison it way out-this was a great entertaining rock and roll and other diverse genres.Old school blues evidently is not the norm for this generation.

The festival was more rock and roll, however,it was highly entertaining. The blues genre evidently is dying. There was faint evidence of the blues at this festival.

The Chcago Blues Festival was a great event. The blues isn't about a genre, The Blues is a Feeling. And that feeling was demonstrated by Harmonica Hinds and Honeyboy Edwards and especially during an entire set from Mud Morganfield and Big Bill Morganfield playing with the Legendary Pinetop Perkins and Willie "Big Eyes" Smith. Then the deep sounds of Charlie Musselwhite brought the crowd to their feet during his entire set on Friday. I was told that this Festival had a different feel to it. Maybe that's because many of the Blues Legends were preoccupied with the loss of the Queen, Koko Taylor. But remember, it was the blues that had a major influence on rock-n-roll...and I think the blues will be alright.
