Of course there was a backroom deal. It's the only way Mufi knows to operate. And I'd say Caldwell had more than a "little" help from Mufi aides. Don't forget Mufi appointee DeCosta (City Clerk) allowed Caldwell to take his nominating papers out of the office after filing them to gather more signatures after it was apparent he didn't have the requisite number of signatures and after the filing deadline. That act bordered on criminal, not a little help.

I just saw Kirk Caldwell wearing a on the job training badge on his aloha shirt. He also had his training wheels attached who was the mayor.

This article somewhat misquotes Kirk. he said the City people who helped him took vacation time and met him off of City property. Failure to do either would be a violation. Bainum also denied that he and Kobayashi had any sort of deal in place, so all you calling out Caldwell better call out Dukie and Ann as well.

The Mayor probably appointed Caldwell because Caldwell would be a yes sir kind of person when it came to the rail. Anyone by any chance see that brown smudge on Caldwell's nose on tv yesterday? Thank god the Digital upgrade did not include "smell"avision.
