McCain is trying to make himself look good, by attending to the "economic crisis". But the reality is, he should be concentrating on the upcoming election - there are how many other Congressmen that can "cover" for him?

Really, McCain is scared. He is scared to face Letterman. He is scared to face Obama in a debate. He is scared.

I think it's all pretty hilarious (except when I stop to think that he might actually get elected into office!).

Dude is playing with fire...looks like he's betting on McCain not being in the White House, better hope he's right. Not a good thing to have the most powerful man in the world as an enemy.

The only time Letterman has been in awhile. Then again we could look like professional comedians if we just stuck to McCain material.

Letterman has never lived in LA. He's based in NY.

True, most of the comedy industry is taking shots at the republican ticket. That's the way it should be. The republican's are one big joke. And I think it's funny as hell. MArk, Letterman is very funny.

Hey, look if it make's everyone feel better, the comedians are still joking about Bill Clinton's oral sexcapade.

Go Barack.

What Hollywood celebs? Letterman is from the mid-west and works in New York and (I think) he lives in Conneticut.

The amazing thing is that his supporters seem to believe his obfuscating and grand standing are really patriotic.

He scuttled this bi-partisan deal so that he could then be front and center in "solving" it. So much for country over politics....

Really, I don't even watch Lettermen because I thought the feeble attempts at humor were just not worth wasting my time on. Your time is pretty useless, so keep watching.

If he made fun of BO he'd be called a racist. McCain is a hero and, therefore, an easy target.

You're taking the term too literally.

He's a celebrity, as with nearly all of them, living in a fantasy world.

At first it was funny, but now Letterman is coming off a little like an egomaniac.

Obviously, I don't think McCain cares at all what David Letterman says or does, and I certainly hope that a potential future president wouldn't consider a mildly entertaining comedian as an "enemy".

This is little more than a publicity stunt to help Letterman's ratings. And hey, it's apparently working since now everyone is talking about his show.

I'd like to see him send the CIA into Dave's house and with a blindfold and a cattle prod.

I think that Americans should take a good look at the audacity of David Letterman--a person who says "The path to the Presidency goes right through me," and "Here's how it works: You don't come to see me? You don't come to see me? Well, we might not see you on Inauguration Day".
UNBELIEVABLE!! This is why people like me--you know, the people who "cling to guns and religion", are so vastly upset with entertainers in America! They truly have no concept of what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck and work two jobs to make the mortgage payment! Do they honestly believe the mainstream blue-collar middle class in this country truly care about their political opinions? Entertainers are nothing more to us than egocentric "fluff". A necessary diversion if you want a laugh--but definitely NOT someone one could conceive of taking seriously...

I bet David cried and boo-hooed the same way when the TV Network chose Jay Leno to replace Johnny Carson, instead of him. "Oh, I feel like the ugly date, and I am soiled." What a cry baby.

David from Laurel (not Dave from Laurel) and Chicago Man. Uh, do you know that McCain brought up the Fannie Mae and Freddie problems several years ago, predicting they would end up causing a big problem? So, now he is grand standing? Obama didn't say anything because he had advisers who were involved with them ..... and both made millions probably by corruption.

Letterman was funny for about two minutes Wednesday night. Then I really thought he'd lost it.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
