I'm sure if they hear there is more food in one direction they go there but walking takes time and during that time you need to eat so its not that simple. Yes our ancestors lived without technology, and many died young of illnesses we can treat today because of more advanced medical technology or died of food poisoning or got sick from germs in the water. Now we have technology to prevent that too. Its great how many of these people survive and hang in there whether they get any aid or not but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help them.

What an ignorant thing to say. You are implying they have sex because they’re bored because they are poor. Even poor people have things to do besides “sex”. They have lots of kids because 1. Less knowledge of and access to contraception. 2. In countries like Haiti more kids don’t make it to adulthood so large families are necessary. 3. There are more subsistence farmers and need more farmhands for more harvest, even in the cities this might be playing out if Haiti still has child labor and then they’d only be sending their kids to work because of the slave wages they get paid and because the educational system is broken enough they expect their kids to have nothing else to look forward to anyways.
The entire world's population could fit on Florida. Overpopulation is a convenient excuse so people can thumb their noses in the air and tell the world's poor that its their fault and they should just stop having babies. The fact is we have plenty of resources to feed and house everyone but because of extreme inequalities in wealth many people still starve. During the Irish Potato Famine potatoes were EXPORTED from Ireland, it happened because of poverty not lack of potatoes.
This is still the cause. If you look at any famine over the past 50 years none happened in democracies. If a famine happens in a democracy the people in charge don’t get reelected. They know this so when there’s a drought or food shortage they buy food from other countries. If the people are just poor but there’s plenty of food they still go out of their way to make sure no famines happen because they’d still lose votes.

Your conclusion does NOT follow from the premises. There is nothing wrong with making things easier and probably saving lives after an earthquake.
Besides that not everyone knows all the plants and everything that can be eaten. Do you? Do you know all that? We Americans probably know a lot less than Haitians about what can be eaten in the wild with our highly sedentary lifestyles. And what if there just isn't enough in an area? Should people fight over the plants and animals that can be eaten?
