Katie Couric, media-bashing's 'poster child,' exits CBS

Full story: TwinCities.com

In the end, Katie Couric's bumpy ride as the first female solo anchor of a network evening news show, which came to a close with Thursday night's broadcast, turned out to be historic for different reasons than people expected.

This article is way too long. Miss Couric lost all of her journalistic cred when she bagan her unabashed fomenting of slurs against GW and anyone alligned with him. She did a "Barbara Walters."

It was always funny to see this inept person take herself so seriously and give the Liberal Scowl as she read the teleprompter!

Like most Liberals she is poorly educated and generally ignorant.

I wondered exactly who in the hell was pushing her in her career. She's a nobody and her departure will be as uneventful as her arrival.

Better go back and do the dopey daytime TV for recipes and fashion!

Informed people get news and information from talk radio and the internet.

I stopped watching any program that she was on or hosting after the idiotic episode back in the '90s when the Today Show invited a chef to show the proper method of preparing lobster. "Cutie Katie" whined when the chef dropped the lobster into the boiling water, make whimpering noises when the chef showed how to remove the legs and claws. I guess she thought lobster came already cooked and served on a silver platter. Probably still thinks you pump the tail of a cow to get milk. She got where she was on her photogenic looks, not on any journalistic skills.
I suppose that holds true for many of the "manicured and coiffed" news anchors today. Real journalists have long since departed this mortal coil.
I miss Edward R. Murrow, H. B. Kaltenborn and the real news caster, not these news opinionists of today.

She did what most people that are CEO's, Moviestars, etc, do. They do what they are told to do, get a ton of money and get out ASAP. Morals and ethics are not the norm in this group. I don't like it but money talks.

While you have a few interesting points, why is it that conservatives are so thin skinned? I hope you are not trying to say Sarah Palen is better educated than Katie. The talk radio and internet only news crowd fits you "head in the sand conservatives" perfectly, you only want to read what you already believe anyhow. You certainly fit right in with the crowd that will be crying in your beer when Obama is re-elected and will be claiming that somehow people didnt understand your message but not that your canidate was rejected for being a crackpot.

The only thing that stopped her from being a good journalist was she wasn't a journalist.

Even that Diva Oprah had the wisdom to walk away from Obama.

Oprah still supports President Obama, however she made the choice not to do so publicly so as not to alienate viewers. People do not want to watch a show where the host makes it a point to voice their support for a candidate. Politics is funny these days. There was a time when you could openly engage in political choice conversations. Those days died out decades ago. Now it is politicaly incorrect to discuss politics. How ironic is that?

I think conservatives tend to be more self-righteous, resulting in the inability to see things any other way then how they view it. In short, they just aren't open to other possibilites.

Couric should have received a Pulitzer and Nobel prize for exposing Palin for the idiot she truly was. That McCain would even consider her for the ticket proved how inept and out of touch he had become. Now both are bitter and blame the media for all their troubles. What a bunch of whining hypocrites the Republicans are.

You are an idiot. Oprah publicly supported Hillary Clinton until she lost the nomination, and then Oprah clearly and publically came out in support of Obama.

No, I am not an idiot. Oprah openly supported Obama in 2008. We are talking about 2012. She is making it a point not to publicly endorse him in 2012 because she does not want to alienate viewers. Her words.

Excuse me Fox News sheeple, try reading articles from start to...wait for it...the finish. You wouldn't have missed this:

"However, Winfrey's rep has strongly denied the claims, and insisted that the talkshow host is as committed to Obama's campaign as ever. Winfrey's spokesperson Lisa Halliday said: "Oprah's support of President Obama has been and remains unwavering since she initially endorsed his candidacy in 2007. Any reports that suggest otherwise are untrue."

Media bashing? Get off it. It was lousy ratings. She wasn't hated by anyone I know. She just wasn't up to the major leagues. She should have stayed daytime.

Lot's of people rejected her. They just sisn't make an issue out of it. Just like Rosanne Arnold. There weren't a lot of protests over her rendition of the National Anthem, but her welcome in the American Home had been worn out. Anywat, that disguating pig is off the air.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
