I saw the movie and thought it was great, I pay for the movies I see
and vote with my MONEY. The review that really counts is the Box Office Ticket count, whether you like it or not. Tyler Perry's Movies are not the Same old Hollywood and ..........that's a Good Thing! |

Perry will always have viewers from the Africian American community. I commend him for having the will and the money to produce something that the Africian American community can relate too. I feel hollywood will continue to ignore us and continue to make films that only the Caucasians can relate too. Can't wait for the next film. It should be titled "Can't when for loosing".

The movie was GREAT!! Please go see it for yourself. The storyline was terrific and very real. The actors were wonderful and I think this is Perry's best work yet. I look forward to his continued success.

Diary of a Mad Black Woman was EXCRUCIATING to watch. I gave it a shot on 3 different occasions and that film just falls short in every way that you mention in this review of Perry's new film.
Sadly, it's only the cliche-blacksploitation-type banter/schtick that feels remotely comfortable because you've seen it before in Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence films. But all the other dynamics - dialogue, character development and plot are just so painful to watch. It's like his films just unravel before you and nothing really flows. The preachiness too is just soooo trite. sorry...i really did try to like Perry's work.:o( |

I just came home from watching it and I thought it was a good movie. Yes, the trip reminded me of The Bucket List, but so what?! It's refreshing to watch a movie that does not have curse words from beginning to end. It had it's sappy moments but again, so what? It is a movie that I could relate to on all levels and will pay to see it again.

The movie was ok. I think if we (the black community) had an array of movies to choose from like white folks, he wouldn't be around. His movies are so base and simple. But, with so little to watch, he gets buy. This last film was entertaining but, nothing to write home about. I only hope someone else comes along and produces movies like The Color Purple or A Soldier's Story. We are a little beyond this stuff - I hope.

I have yet to see the movie, but based on your piece I'll be first in line to see the Movie, I lot of you guys are so clueless as to what a good movie is. You are so sheltered in your lily white world that anything that is not white is totally foreign to you and you can't see for looking. Tyler Perry ought to thank you. For your ringing endorsement.

I have not seen this movie, but I have seen other Tyler Perry movies which are definitely geared toward black women. As a black man I don't relate to them as much as some of my sisters. They are funny in spots, but definitely not great films by any stretch of the imagination. And what's up with a black man always playing a black woman? I don't get it and am tired of it.

Because if he doesn't put his name on it, NOBODY will go see it!! We will think it's just another lame black-produced-ghetto-fabulous movie!! |

Go Tyler Perry go- all the way to the bank. Thank you for providing employment to many talent African American actors and actresses.
