awww, I know how it feels and to be honest, no I didn't dig, but I've been very busy and haven't had time to even read the forum messages I get from the NBC board. I can barely keep up with things here.

Personally I am frustrated with the TBD situation, although it's great that Mark Cuban has decided to air the 1st season episodes on HDNet, I'm afraid that I truly do not believe we'll see anymore seasons of the show.

It's clear the creators and actors have moved on to other projects, which signals that there will be no filming of any episodes during the Summer which would have to happen for a fall premiere at the latest they'd have to start filming the end of Summer for a mid season premiere. I simply don't see it happening.

I really like the show, but I've accepted the fact that it will not be back but I will continue to support any projects Tuck has in the works, but we simply don't have enough people willing to invest the time in supporting his career outside of ooh and ahh'ing about his abs and such.

I've learned from the wacky world of Gerard Butler Fans that you can really get the word out about your favorite actor and help get his/her name out to people who may not know who the heck they are. Then the rest is chance.

but who wants to invest that kind of time and who should? I have my up and down days about fandom, that's why my new project is geared in a direction that is about sharing ideas, perspectives, news and networking along with discussing an actor and actresses.

I feel that's a better balance. I began to feel weird about investing so much time discussing a celebrity I didn't know and who doesn't know me. I'd rather it put my time into things that are more well rounded.

Hope you feel better and please don't take this post as being discouraging it's only my perspective and how I feel.

No it's not discouraging or nothing..I know what you're saying. I started out as just a fan of Jonathan Tucker(and I'm still a big fan) but this(whole TBD thing) has become personal to me. Jonathan Tucker is what pulled me into the show but as I watched I really came to appreciate the writing and most especially how it was different and broke lots of rules. They used a whole different voice and threw out stuff that wasn't in any lines. It was very artistic to me. All the stuff we see is always done the same, it may be a different story but it's predictable. That because most writing stays in some guidelines.
I have always hated that. To me this was like a break-out of the norm- much needed- the only thing that even made it possible for it to get on TV was of course Paul Haggis', and Morescos' names. Of course all the up-tight editors, critics, execs, had to try and squash it right away..."can't have nothin' different now..that's just not acceptable."

This is the whole reason I gave up writing as a child. When I was a child I started writing stories but alot of times I put them in character(like an old guy telling the story, ect) and I always kept getting shot down because of the rules I would break, like using different language from what you would normally see in books. I would write as though someone was talking telling the story..it was different and unacceptable. But what people don't realize is that's the reason that more people don't read. The rules force everyone to write the same then when someone picks up a book it ends up sounding like a thousand others they read. I mean I read alot and I can always know exactly what words are coming next, I may not know the plot line but I know the words. This gives me a tendency to skip sentences and skim things I've heard three hundred times. The point is some people don't like the words used and won't read b/c they feel it's silly or boring to talk so precisely all the time. There should be more out there to draw in more people. I don't know if I'm explaining my point comprehensively but I've always abhorred the rules, I think they aim for one target audience and "screw everyone else".

TV is the same way. I don't watch TV much. I think it's boring. I know exactly what I'm going to see...sometimes it will be funny but it's all the same. I've seen it before.
we have gotten to the point where comedies succeed even when they are not funny at all. All they do is throw in nudity and the same old jokes about it.

The Black Donnellys was a chance to open the door a little for something different. I hope it comes back. I really, really hope it comes back. If it doesn't I think we will have a thousand years more constrictive abhorrent rules keeping artistry under wraps. That sux.

oh no it was great and I understand completely where you are coming from. I think you and I both have a great appreciation for writing and yes unfortunately, let's not get started on television and film writing. Most of it is utterly boring and craptastic to me, but it's all a business and the people who produce and publish such work thinks that's what the public wants. They do seem to be targeting a certain demographic and/or audience with their fare but I (like you) do not believe that makes up majority of people out here in the world.

I think the internet is creating a whole new world for artistic freedom, people are making their own films, music, books and ect. Then uploading it online putting it out there for the world to decide.

Also I think you should really start writing again, even if it's just a personal blog of your thoughts and perspectives on current events. It will get you back into practice and spark your passion for it again.

Even when you are on the road maybe keep a little notebook with you and jot some thoughts down when you're taking a rest or break. It may be worth investing in a computer notebook, then you can take the net on the road with you and when you have breaks update your blog with you thoughts.

I recently joined this forum for people whom write interracial romance fiction and it's great. I've been getting a lot of encouragement to write and it's helped A LOT. I am notorious for abandoning a story, when I hit a brick wall of creativity. Maybe you can find a forum like that as well, where you can write a live short story and get encouragement, critiques and ect along the way.

Anyway, I'll say it again...

TBD is lucky to have a fan like you and the others. Your dedication is solid and I hope that there's a different outcome than I predict (you never know).

Thx.
It's great to read all that. I'm glad you get what I was trying to say. It's something I've been arguing about for a few years. Editors just throw away anything as soon as they see it deviate from some guidelines without reading it all and judging the finished product.

I guess I sort of understand that b/c they get so many stories and manuscripts but it's made me not want to write b/c I think it won't get read anyway.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will start writing again. This time I'm not going to worry about how to sell it when I'm done, maybe that will help me. I always stop writing something b/c I think no one will want it but then I try to write something I know would sell and it just bores me and I can't force myself to finish it. lol! I just can't win!

That's great that you joined a writing community. I wish I had done that eariler but like I've said a few times I'm pretty new to the internet and just learning my way around.
How you described it it almost sounds just like how they do writing classes(everyone putting their work out there to be critqued).
So it's almost like your getting a service for free! That's awesome!

Thx Noelani, you're a great internet friend.

I was on the NBC boards again(as a guest since I'm suspended and they won't send me a confirm for the new account I tried to make) and came across this cool fanfic. It's hilarious so I copied it and brought it over here for anyone who doesn't go to nbc.com anymore.

Episode 1: How Do They Afford These Cool Things?

Mama Donnelly dying in his blood covered arms, Tommy stared out the window with a glare of contempt for Dokey and all of the men who'd backed him in his shenanigans. And now, as Mama Donnelly lay dead, Tommy knew that it was time to settle the score once and for all.

"Turn the van around, Sean, " he screamed amidst the commotion.

"What?" he yelled back. "I can't hear you over Joanie's incessant howling, " said Sean because he couldn't hear Tommy over Joanie's incessant howling.

"I said, " he yelled again, "Turn the van ar-"

"WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, " screamed Joanie once more who was silenced a second later by Jimmy's, "Can it, ho!" as he gave her a swift slap across the buttox.

"Finally, " muttered Tommy. "Now turn the van around, it's time to get back at that ******* for what he's done.

"You mean for when he beat me in Stratego the other day?" asked Kevin, scratching his head. Upon seeing his brothers' expressions and his mom lying dead on the floor, he came to a realization and said, "Oh." With that, Sean slammed the breaks and spun the wheel, causing the van to spin in a 180 degree fashion as several pedestrians dove out of the way for their lives. Sean stepped on the gas pedal and they were off.

Dokey nearly pooped his new Snoopy boxers as he saw the white van speeding back down the road towards him and his men. His right hand man, who was in the middle of a victory high five, immediately called the rest to attention. Their guns came from concealment, once more raining bullets upon the brothers.

"Now!" Tommy commanded. At his brother's word Kevin produced the rocket launcher given to them earlier that day and leaned out the window, firing it straight towards Dokey's crew.
"FIDDLESTICKS, " was the last word one of the Irishmen pronounced as the rocket hit him square in the chest and exploded, filling the area with a thick gray smoke. The van halted to a screech and out through the windshield leapt Joey Icecream, cocking his shotgun, Kevin, readying his rocket launcher for another sick explosion, and Sean, with a bat. Nobody knew why Sean chose a bat when the rest chose such cooler weapons, but there wasn't ample opportunity to ask. The three were the first into the smoke, smacking, blasting, and rocketing the men who'd wronged them.
"You coming Jimmy?" asked Tommy, unsheathing his broadsword as he stepped from the van.
"Yeah, just a... wait a second, where the **** did you get a sword?"
"You mean I didn't have it the whole time?"
The two brothers contemplated this dilemma for a second, stared stupidly at the sword for another second, and by the third second Tommy was off, disappearing into the smoke ready to cut down whoever he ran into first.
"Joanie, " Jimmy spoke softly as he readied to exit. "If something happens to me and my brothers, I want you to use this." He reached under the seat and pulled out a gun which had been ductaped to the bottom.
"You m... m... mean.... I should sh... sh... shoot myself?" She broke down sobbing, repeating Jimmy's name and trying to make a grab for him.
"No, you stupid cow, " he retorted. "If we die you use this to shoot some *******. Christ!" Without another word he was off, cocking the crossbow which he had apparently found at the same time that Tommy found his sword.
"For Frodo!" Joey Ice Cream's battle cry rang out. It was in fact Mama Donnelly who they were fighting for rather than Frodo, and the four brothers and Joey would laugh about it while having a delicious steak dinner the next night. It was not yet time for steak though, Joey knew. Dodging several bullets with a sideward dive he rammed the butt of his gun into the nearest Irishman, then spun and sidekicked the next in the chest. Sean appeared next to him wildly swinging his bat, hoping to score a hit and not get his *** kicked for once. They heard a rocket explode several feet away and chuckled knowing that Dokey's men were getting what was due. Their chuckling frightened them and they came to an immediate stop, contemplating for a moment that they might be going insane but then shrugged it off, beating more union members out of the way.
Tommy was the fourth to enter the fray and found an immediate target who was slashing at him with a knife. He brought the sword up in a graceful arc which parted hand from wrist and head from shoulders. "Sweet, " he said. "I should've used this when I beat up those gangstas that time." Then again, he thought, the bat was probably more satisfying when silencing those trashtalking gangsta drug dealers. He turned in time to block the downward swing of a pipe and the assailant fell with a crossbow bolt sticking from his back.

Tommy! Find Dokey!" yelled Jimmy as yet another man came up behind him. A swift backfist followed by a sidekick and spinning backick felled the man instantly. The smoke was clearing and the number of Dokey's boys lying unconscious was growing by the second.

"Alright!" cheered Joey. "Nothing can stop our brotherly love!"

"What are you, a fairy?" asked Sean. "You're not even our brother!" Joey looked down in sadness and even one of Dokey's men stopped to tell Sean that he was being harsh. Sean hit the man with his bat and then hugged Joey in forgiveness, promising Joey one "Beat Sean in Scrabble and brag about it" pass.

"There is one thing!" roared Dokey amidst the fighting. They all stopped to watch as Dokey's right hand man lifted Dokey over his shoulder. He wondered whether Dokey would ever let him have a name, but every time he asked Dokey silenced him with a slap similar to the one Jimmy had previously given to Joanie. "And you'll never see it coming, you **** Donnellys! It could be tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day!" And with that he cackled, his ***** running off and getting into a car before speeding away into the moonlight.

And once again, there was **** waiting to go down.

It was written by Mailbox Cow. Unfortunately he hasn't updated it in a long time. It's very funny though huh?
One guy commented that he(Mailbox Cow) forgot to have Dokey say "Tommy I am your father!"

I'm good and how are you? Sorry I didn't contact you sooner, I've been busy with my blog and forum and the home front here.

Did you find another trucking job?

Yes! I'm off to a company called TRL this afternoon. I've been busy getting everything ready, Packed, and making arrangments for my son while I'm gone. Marten transport was a terrible disappointment to me but this place will be better... hey it really couldn't be worse!

Argghh I hate this computer! I'm at my Grandmothers right now and her pc is like ancient.
It took me almost ten mins to click this thread and type this msg, not kidding.

How's your writing coming? I wrote a short story about a woman who went insane(lol yes it's the story of my life) and I'm still working to revise it. I think it's pretty good though. Thx for encouraging me! And good luck on your writing too!
I'll check in next month some time.

Congrats on that! I hope this one works out better for you. Glad to hear you are writing consistently. I do hope you share the finish product with me, I'd be really excited to read it.

Well my website is trucking along, we have up and down days, we are sort of at a dip in traffic at the moment but whenever someone posts about Gerard Butler people come running *lol*. However he has a lot of projects in the works now,so there's very lil' gossip and such to comment on.

I'm not one for much celebrity gossip anyway, I'm more into talking about interesting perspectives and personalities they have and of course above all...their acting ability and films.

I've decided to jump into another project, I won't say yet what it is because I'd be embarrased to drop the ball on it after telling you and others about it. Let's just say, I hope I can use it to maybe do a few things to promote Tuck's career as well. Although he doesn't "need" my assistance, I'm still a fan and I've really slept on Valley of Elah.

Talk to you soon and feel free to drop me an email, you have the address.

Hey!
Sorry it took so long to get back to ya.
Computer was busted for awhile.
I'm gonna look for that story sometime soon so I can send it to you(I'll email it). You could critique it for me if you want. I sent it in to a contest and nothin came of that. It didn't surprise me really.
The contest wanted a max of 1500 words and my story was like 2200 to begin with. I hacked it too much. I shouldn't have bothered but I guess I just wanted to do something with it. Send it somewhere ya kno? It wasn't that good anyway but I was happy with completing it.
I'm working on a childrens book now.
I think it will be cute when I'm done. It's a rhyming story.

"TRL" sold out. I liked them, they were giving me great loads but I guess they were having financial problems.
"Prime" bought them. Prime wasn't running me anywhere. I wasn't hardly making any money so I'm going with a new company.
I know this might seem outlandish to you changing companies so much but it's not really that strange. I hate changing jobs all the time- I have to take a bus out to wherever that companies HQ is for oreintation, but that's just the way the truckin industry is.

How's everything going with you and your site?
Or that book you've been working on?
Did you move?
How have you been?

Heya!

You know, you know the last message you posted here was on my birthday!

I'm doing well I'm sorry to hear about the trucking company you work for. A lot has happened and not happened. It's coming on the one year anniversary of my site! Can you believe it?!

Drop me an email...The ruins got very little promotion...what's up with that?

I suppose it didn't seem very interesting though...and I say that coming from a horror fan perspective.

How are things at the Firecracker Lounge?
