Sen. Rubio on Obama Immigration Policy: 'Why Wouldn't Someone Call Me?'

Full story: WISW-AM Columbia

"He is deliberately [dividing] Americans against each other for purposes of political gain....If you look at this White House, they never pass up an opportunity to pit one group of Americans against another for purposes of improving his electoral chances," he said.

Yes he is.....
He should have been given a chance to air his plan and Instead Obama ignored him....IMO

I would like to have seen this worked out through the legislative process with both sides of the immigration debate having some influence on the policy going forward, but that's not how our government works anymore.

Rubio intended to introduce his own (republican) legislation and make that the center piece of the fight over illegal immigration during this election cycle.

Obama saw the political box they were trying to put him in and he made his move.

This is politics and it's an election year.

From that perspective Obama made a smart move and all the republicans can do right now is complain about how it was done.

We no longer have a "Government for the People", we have a government for the politicians and those who bankroll them.

President Reagan issued three separate executive orders deferring the deportations of Nicaraguans,Guatemalans and Salvadorans

President George Bush issued an executive order deferring the deportation of Chinese people.

President Clinton issued an executive order deferring the deportations of Albanians.

President George W. Bush issued an executive order deferring the deportations of Liberians.

Why is it that nobody questioned the authority of the past four Presidents that did the exact same thing?

Not the same thing. You referred to executive Orders. This change of policy is NOT an Executive Order. It is simply a Cabinet level memo.

even though the LYING bastards at Fux and lazy-assed 'reporters' from the corporate media miscategorize it.

You are correct. This is not an executive order and no laws were changed. Thanks for clarifying that. The main point is the same though. This has been done several times in the past and only now is it an issue.

By the way, speaking of Fux did you see Jon Stewart expose them once again last night. They have been running an edited tape from a few months ago of Obama saying that he can not change the law by himself. Of course they have been jumping all over this. Stewart showed the unedited version. In this Obama makes a clear case for issuing a memo to defer deportations. Just another example of Fux lying to their viewers. It is just remarkable that people reject American media sources and listen to that crap.

The clip is a little long, but go to the 4:00 mark and you will see the unedited version of Obama's remarks.

Yeah I saw that! Even though I've read so mauch about the science behind it, it still amazes me that the Right-wingers can accept the Fux Freaks LYING to them every day! How can anyone be that gullible and stupid? It's a damn shame they have no pride.

It's remarkable. They reject any media outlet based in the US and take their marching orders from a company owned by an Australian porn merchant and a Saudi Price.

Meanwhile News Corp owns TV stations in other countries that churn out anti-American propaganda all day long. Abu Dhabi-based Arabic language news channel Sky News Arabia is one example. Their take on US and Muslin issues is quite a bit different then what we hear on FOX.

The same company has joint ventures with the Chinese government providing anti-American propaganda to the masses over there. I have been traveling to China for years on business. I am always stunned to hear what they broadcast over there.

So there you have it. In the US FOX warns of Islamic caliphates and calls everybody un-American socialists. Meanwhile they are serving as the mouthpiece for real life anti-American Communist and Islamic governments.

Anything for a buck.
