Full story: Zap2it.com

The third season is a single-story, five-night tale about a child-care challenge -- on the day the world's children all begin to chant, 'We are coming.' The third season of "Torchwood," the "Doctor Who" spinoff about a team of supra-government agents fighting aliens and monsters in and around Cardiff, Wales, has been conceived as a single-story, ...

I saw it this past weekend and I must say it had more depth and resonance than I expected. The good guys aren't always good and make morally questionable decisions. The bad guys are more like humans than one would expect. And the show leaves you praying that the government doesn't really operate that way.
It's much more adult than it has any right to be and the conclusion does resort to a deus ex machina but it works.

I'll take a season of Torchwood over an episode of Sanctuary and (it's starting to look like) Warehouse 13 any day. Call it my being-born-in-Europe snobbery coming through, but I just have a fondness for British sci-fi shows, even if they're not the best-acted, best-produced programs. Now if somebody would actually pay the bloody lighting staff...why does everything have to be so damned dark?

Torchwood: Children of Earth reminds one of a simple fact as they pipe in all the ones chanting the "We are coming." sound/lyrics routine.

Someone should remind them that, "At least you should be breathing deeply."

W/ that as an ending note I leave you all w/ a wish to be well this eve.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
