I hate Bay and its sad that a movie this bad will make hundreds of millions of dollars.

I think to have an effective review, you'd really have to compare this movie to the first. Not "well I kinda enjoyed the first, but..." yada yada. I guess that's what makes Ebert such a good critic. He knows what type of audience this movie will draw and he'll perfectly cater to them.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand Ebert gave the film 1 Star, after giving the first one 3 Stars. Apparently he's had enough as well.

Are you guys looking for Oscar nods or explosions? Its transformers... based on a cartoon! The only thing I was looking for was the CGI on the transformations and they got it right. I am taking the kids and I will buy the movie.

Rotten Tomatoes combo of reviews is putting this movie among the worst of the year so far. Despite that, people will rush to go see it...the same people who seem to make Tyler Perry movies successful, buy Britney tickets, and think Jim Belushi is HYSTERICAL.
The dumbing down continues...

LOL at all of the sheep on here who haven't seen the 150 minute movie and gladly proclaim that they'll go see AND buy the movie! hahaha
Do any of you think for yourself, or do you just see TRANSFORMERS and automatically think it's going to be awesome? Or maybe it's the weird nerd-crush on Fox. Most reviewers that actually liked the first movie have panned this one - hard.
But RUN to the theater and give them a reason to produce a THIRD movie while worthwhile projects are left out in the cold. You people realize this script was written in under two months, right? QUALITY WORK THERE!

What's your point?

This review is hilarious. Maybe Michael Bay is borrowing tricks from Sam Raimi ("Drag Me to Hell") and adding humor to the mix.

No one has yet mentioned the worst of Bay's crimes: casting Shia labeauf. How does he keep getting parts in all these movies? He is almost as awful as Hayden christianson. Ughhhhhh.

E-N-T-E-R-T-A-I-N-M-E-N-T! My God people! Its a movie based on a cartoon - NOT REAL LIFE. I will go to the theatre and enjoy a diversion from all the politics and crap happening in the world. Thank you Mr Bay for "Calgonnin'" me away for 149 minutes. Although I am upset that none of the reviews mentioned Josh running in slow motion - yummy!

I found the original Transformers: The Movie the best of the franchise. A story that we all knew but played out great. I was hoping they would have redone that with today's modern CG. I'll wait till NETFLIX has this one.

I agree that this type of movie (as with any Michael “Leroy Neiman” Bay film) is purely for entertainment. I also feel that in order to be entertained, you need to make some coherent sense as to what it is you are watching on screen. I think the constant use hyperkinetic camera movements and explosions every five minutes are Bay’s pornography of sorts. Despite my grievances against Bay (and there are many) this film is still going to take in hundreds of millions of dollars, allowing Bay to revel in what he believes is his genius. I feel Bay is easily, one of, if not the worst filmmakers in the world, which, in turn, as far as Hollywood is concerned, also makes him one of the most successful. I have not seen this film, nor am I planning to, all my criticisms against Bay come from his other films, including the first Transformers. I'm sure that all those who do go and see it, will definately enjoy it.
