I think they'd have been better off to just have Gates just do the ads themselves being goofy and aloof. People would identify more with him.

I was excited when I saw the first ad. I watched the whole thing, and by the time they got to the end where Bill Gates was adjusting his underwear in the parking lot, I just blurted out, "What is this?!?" It was a commercial about "Nothing", just like Jerry Seinfelds show was supposed to be a show about "Nothing". Were they trying to sell Jerry Seinfeld to the customers or Microsoft?

I use Linux and open source programs. If Gates wants to be hip and on the cutting edge he should open source the Windows operating system and office suites. The wave of the future is doing that and to sale services not the software itself. Even the underlineing operating system of Mac's are open source BSD. They realize that you make a better product by having the talent pool of the world work on your software. The GUI is closed source which is why I use Linux instead. What you pay for when you buy a Mac is a system where the hardware is the best and is picked for compatiblity with the software. People are willing to pay more for this.

Really, Jerry Seinfeld?! Why didn't Gates just donate 10 million to charity? Seinfeld isn't worth 2 cents these days.

I've always loved Seinfeld but these ads just seemed like the comedy was forced. You have to think about the average American when trying to sell computers and we're so dumbed down nowadays I don't think most people had the slightest clue what was going on in these commercials. People probably went out and bought shoes after the first one, not Windows. The Apple ads on the other hand at least focus on selling the ease of use their computers have over PC's. That is something they have done very well aond straightforward while being comedic at the same time, appealing to the tech saavy and trailer trash alike!

I thought the ads were funny. they were just like the show "seinfeld". I just saw Seinfeld perform standup here in Orlando, and it was worth every penny. he still is very funny.

Yes, the ads are quite amusing, but exactly what they say about Microsoft or their products is a mystery to me. Exactly what message is MS trying to convey with these ads? It'll take a lot more than Seinfeld to burnish Microsoft's image.

the ads were horrible. It took watching them two or three times to say 'oh maybe this means this...or not' an ad should resonate with the consumer as SOON as its over, even while its still on...i think that microsoft just reiterated MACs ads, theyre not hip, not cool, and difficult to understand.

It would have been funnier with Kramer blurting out racial slurs and Bill Gates saying.."hey, that not very PC, but this is (and show IBM's PC). Then Kramer could get his arse kicked and side shot of Bill Gates looking up adult sites on the internet.
I agree, except maybe showing Gates deficating into a toilet made to look like an Apple PC.

10 million dollars!!!!! Outrageous when taxpayers are bailing out AIG, banks are failing, the financial world is a mess, people are scared, unemployed and homeless. NO ONE is worth that kind of money. This is disgusting.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
