We can punish people who release bad, or obnoxious, movies by refusing to buy tickets. Why can't we punish them for a stupid or insulting advertising? The "I'm SO over you, Sarah Marshall" posters have curdled my sensibility. It is similar to why I don't consider Mazda automobiles because of that "zoom zoom" idiot!

Say what you will about the movie, but that advertising campaign was genius! Who didn't laugh at that and try to figure out if it was real the first time they saw it? It brought me to the website months ago and has created considerable buzz. That's marketing genius right there...obnoxious or not.

The ads certainly got my attention, though. At first I thought it was just another crappy teen sex comedy, which didn't interest me. Then I heard it was from the guys of 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up - which DID interest me. Then I heard about the extended passage of male nudity, which frankly - I don't need to see. And now I hear that it's actually really, really funny! So maybe I've swung around to wanting to go see it again? Who knows... But what remains is that the advertising did do its job.

"If the raunch of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Knocked Up" or "Superbad" wasn't to your liking, disregard the previous sentence."

Shoulda been the first line in the review and finished with "disregard this review."

"Star"??? Jason Segal is hands-down the weakest link on HIMYM. I can barely tolerate him sporadically for 22 minutes of a TV show. I can't imagine sitting through 90+ minutes of his wooden "acting". Between the obnoxious and juvenile ad campaign and the presence of this lame tool in the movie, I'll pass, thanks very much. I can't imagine any adult not doing the same.

"You DO look fat in those jeans, Sarah Marshall" is one of the most awesome pieces of movie advertising I have seen in a long time. Everyone has been wondering, who is Sarah Marshall, and why is she fat?

The success of the "Sarah Marshall" ad campaign explains how both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were two-term presidents. You people are idiots.

I never review a film without seeing it ( sound logic, right? but in todays' climate...) We were going to see this Sat 4.19.08 --now I'm not so sure...I would like to talk to someone I trust who's seen it...

A movie starring the two hottest petite actresses in Hollywood will always get my vote.

People:

If you like lame and overdone sexual humor, men who act like wimpy girls and are looking for a horrible way to burn off two hours of your life (not to mention ten bucks), then this is the movie for you.

What a vapid, crude, whining, mindless, pornish waste.

If you like people with a horrible scense of humor, lame, boring, and just complains about everything thing then hanging out with Peter Stamatis is what you want to do.

On a serious note, I saw this movie last night and still have not stopped laughing. If you liked 40 year old virgin, Super Bad, and Knocked up, you will love this movie. This guy (PETER) complains about a whiney guy, well what guy never got dumped by the woman he loved and whined about it. Quit trying to act so adult like buddy. This movie was really good and Peter probably hated it because it brought up painful memories and hit close to home. Its was a great movie, with good characters and nice punch lines. A good comedy that I think everyone can related to. It is worth the $9.50 I paid for it.

This movie sucked. I was really looking forward to a funny romantic comedy. Peter Stamatis is right, it was a WASTE OF TIME. I cannot believe the Trib gave it 3 1/2 stars. It had potential but failed miserably. Take it easy J Seville. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Maybe YOU were the one who could relate to the bad break up...?

Ok, everyone, lets be realistic. I think that was a little to much nudity, boderline soft porn. As a confident and successful young adult, I too felt that this was 'just to much'. I guess when deciding to go to a 'comedy' movie in the future, i will rethink any movie selection to be rated pg13 and under. What happened to the values in movies lately? There just arent anymore true comedy't out there. We need to go back to days of the 80's for a good clean laugh.

Why is it that Hollywood can't make a humorous movie without nudity, vulgar language and sexual scenes so that wider audiences can go? Most people -- as audience totals show -- don't have those factors in their lives, by intention. Kristen Bell starred in the delightful "Enchanted," a movie that adults and children enjoy. Too bad she feels she has to lower herself to the standard Hollywood trash level when she could succeed with an expanded audience appeal. And Hollywood wonders why R movies don't net the revenue that G and PGs do.

You saw a guys junk a couple of times, and a picture of boobs, that doesnt qualify soft porn. I can remember many nude shots in classic comedies like animal house. It always amazes me how people look on the naked body in a negative way. There was nothing we havent already seen. It makes me think the only posters on this board are old.

Like what movies?, Blue Brothers with the cursing and violence, Bachelor Party with the Donkey scene, or Animal house with the loads of nudity and vulgar language? Or trading Places with Jamie Lee Curtis's and other female boobs. Or maybe even coming to america with the best line ever "the royal penis is clean". So what clean comedies are you talking about, because these classic funny movies have plenty of raunch for their time.

Not all people like the lovey dovey disney movies. My girlfriend for example loves those movies. She loves all disney movies. I on the other hand like the violent rated R movies like Saw, Rambo, Street Kings, No Country for Old Men.
