If you liked the Pride and Prejudice movie, you should definitely look into Keira Knightley's new movie, The Dutchess. Set in the sixteenth century, the movie portrays the life of the Duchess of Devonshire.

If you haven't seen it yet, catch the trailer at www.theduchessmovie.com .

I haven't seen the flick as of now, but I have glanced at the script and her character sounds funky and full of life. I can't wait!

It's amazing...brilliant cinematography as expected, just the ending is ick...but that's life i guess...it doesn't always have happy endings.

It was definitely a woman's movie type ending. The duke places his hand on the dutchess and wishes for a "normal life." Then the movie ends with captions over scenes. The captions are very hard to read. They are blue or purple and in scripthand, It is supposed to look artsy. It is just a pisspoor technical way to tell the viewer important stuff.

Synopsis of what happened then. The gal the duke had been screwing left the castle and it appears she got married. It is definitely a woman's movie. It ended well and logically, which is not at all real life. But at least it was finally resolved.

The actor who played the duke was well-chosen. What a perfect ass he was. People must have been very fertile in those days. One night of love in each case and up pops a child! Not bad for a shot in the dark! Totally unrealistic.

Like I said, it's a woman's movie. I'd have preferred some shooting and carriage chases.

So why did I watch it? Our daughter brought it home for us old couple to watch. And it was very-well made despite the goofy plot. It must have cost a fortune to made. Didja look at the titles? About half a dozen production and distribution companies involved on the money end. Pathe still exists? Must be Pathe France. I saw an Italian distribution credit there, too. And the gal writer of the book was a executive producer. That means she put money into this.

It was a BBC production. That says it all. Noted that money for this came from the Brit lottery! Great idea. Should to that here.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
