Can't wait to see this film with Chritian Bale and Heath Ledger together. At last a darker batman film, like the one Keaton did.

This is an american superhero right? So why the european cast?
Is like going to Ireland and filming the movie "the Wind that shakes the Barley" with an italian cast.. get my drift? Why didn't they choose an american actor?

English actors dont make better actors....
Directors make bad films. George Clooney could have played him just as dark as as Christian but Shumacher wanted him to be played a little more light. Ive seen Geroge Clooney in From Dusk till dawn and her was good in the dark roles. Val Kilmer stunk at the role. I couldn't buy him as batman....
But isn't it something how english actors have to get coaches so they can get american roles. Whats the matter England running out of work. You see they all come to America..
I always thought the guy from "the Practice should have been offered the role of Batman. He has the dark brooding look and has played the dark roles before. His name is Dylan Mcdermott. There are many american actors out there that can play the role. I just object to the europeans taking on roles that are traditionally american. Makes no sense... I'm glad the Spiderman creators stuck to their roots and kept the main character american. I have no objection if the superheroes were of British if the comic book called for it.

British actors are not better than American ones. Keaton is American, and he was the best Batman to date, with Bale coming in a close second. That sissy Schumacher almost destroyed the Batman film franchise, not the actors. You British blokes would declare war if an American was ever named the next James Bond.

This batman cast is turning out to be more overseas actors rather thatn keeping it more american. I think Ill skip the next one. Christian was good but thats b/c the writing was good. The storyline was good.

Yes,Christian Bale was good, but does everyone in that film have to be a damn foriegner?

Forget about who is English, who is American, etc. This is the world...are we going to limit Australian actors to Aussie movies? If they can act, they can play any part, in theory. Some actors are better at certain genres, and sometimes they are at the top of their game, and sometimes not.

I think limiting actors to work about and in their own countries is descriminating. Didn't Madonna play Eva Peron? Didn't Renee Zelweger play Bridget Jones? They were terrific in these roles.

I try to do a good job every day, but sometimes I don't accomplish what I had planned.

Yes but look at the stats--very few american actors get offered roles overseas in big films unless they are big stars or in some fantasy film. while those from across the pond get offered the roles meant for american actors with ease. I guess it depends on the director. most foriegn director pick thier own kind...

This is true and I think it may have a lot to do with new actors. How many people knew of Bale before now? Not many. I for one didn't (Maybe I'm just not aware of these things). People are drawn to movies if they see new faces. I for one am sick of seeing actors like Cruiose who think they are Gods and come down off their pedestals when they run out of money and make a movie to entertain the masses. And (unfortunately) Holmes was in it, she's American.

so many american actors could have easily filled the batman role..
So many up and coming actors that are being recognized for thier indie roles.
Could be that the american actors are not going for the roles cause they cnsider it to beneath them if they want to gain recognition for their more serious roles. there is also the danger that it may shadow the real good acting the actor did in his previous films..example-Tobey Mcguire..Great actor now is and will forever be known for Spiderman.. that despite he was a fantastic actor in films like "Seabiscuit" and other films that have been nominated in previous years prior to his taking on the spiderman role..

yeah but he sure enjoyed living here and earning his greenbacks from us didn't he?
May he rest in peace...

Batman is an american comic book...
therefore american actors should have had first crack at the roles...
