i think they are if you do to please comment here

Some depressed people may cut themselves for the attention they wish they got because they feel that they are invisible, unimportant or unwanted.

It is not about being emo. It is about having problems.

im talking about the emos that do it for attion theres heaps of them

Those are the kids who are looking for people to come to them to help them, rather than asking for help themselves.

There is no such thing as an emo kid cutting for fun, as for cutting for attention, it is just a cry for help.

If you mutilate your body for a reason other than needing to redirect pain or want to kill yourself, you have deeper mental issues that need to be addressed.

It may depend. I guess some people do it for the attention, and some just do it because they hate themselves...And some people like to do it 'cause it's fun??

Either way they have issues that should be addressed.

Once someone becomes self destructive, it is time to get them help.

well they should wake up theres worse people than them theres like 3rd world countrys that slave to death every day

I didn't cut myself for attention or because I wanted to kill myself. To me it was a way of coping with things I didn't want to face. I regret it now, but I can see why I did it. I tried to commit suicide and then for a year after that I made a few other half-hearted attempts and I began to self-mutilate. It might have been a cry for help, if it was I never got that. As for emo's cutting themselves then, they might do it because it's considered to be emo. It's stupid because emo is a trend and if self-harm is seen to be emo then self-harm is now a trend as well.

I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. If I could go back and change things I would, but I can't do that and I'll always have the scares to remind me of a time that I'd rather forget.

but do you agree that people these days are doing it for attion most people i talk are like look at my arms i did it last night but i do no people who do it because there is some thing wrong its my best friend i tell her to talk to some one but she won't i told her that she won't help her self by cutting her self up but there is alot of kids out there who do for the look the attion

Yeah I do agree with you there. I know some people who go around showing their scars to everyone and they expect people to feel sorry for them for that. It's sick.

i have only shown my scars to one person and it was for the reason of letting them in to help me.

i am glad i asked someone for help.

I did the same thing, it ended up with them thinking I was crazy and in need of mental help. I showed my scars to my parents, I expected them to help me instaed of screaming at me and crying about how they didn't deserve a daughter like me.

Well once i cut meself because just so much was going on in my life and i did not show anybody. I never did it again after that i was soo scared someone was going to see it.
Yea some people just do it to get themselfs noiced(that's not always a good way to get noiced!)

people who do things like that normaly get a bad rep but i do feel sorry for those who do it and don't tell people the ones that do it the once the ones who could never do it again but there the ones with the real problem

if you did keep it to your self you well you just told every one so your not very good at keeping it to your self

I've stopped now, it took me ime though, it's a bit addictive and once you start you can't really stop that easily.

I get a urge now and then but ive stopped.

uhh you soooo clever!! i dont knw any of you so i really dont care if you knw! the people i do KNOW i keep it to myself.because then they wont leave me alone.

i never cut myself but my family usally knows if some thing is wrong with me but i won't lie i have thought about doing but never had the guts to and then i thought about how would i hide the cuts because i think my mum and dad would go nuts if i did cut myself
