It means that she was writing through the perspective of the boyfriend in that part of the song, not that she is lesbian. LISTEN to the song and you will note that part of it is like the girl is "speaking" and part of it is as the boy is "speaking" and in the end she writes down a "song" from what they each were saying or thinking about the examples of what their song was. Don't you have any sense?

u really don't understand the song. no offense, but you really shouldn't comment on something you know nothing about. in the chorus, she's saying "and he said..." referring to her supposed boyfriend. THEN she says "our song is the slammin' screen door...i didn't kiss her when i should have". She's saying that she is quoting her boyfriend.

i know most likely you think i'm some weird person who types notes to you that you'll probably never read anyways. but really, i can relate to teardrops on my guitar. now, i know that you probably just wrote the song, most likely with no relation to your personal life. but still, i just wanted to tell you, that i hate ALL country music---except yours. i heard "our song" at my friend's party, and have listened to your songs, and bought your CD.

I may offend some Taylor Swift fans, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I don’t understand how Taylor received the Horizon award over Little Big Town; that was a travesty! I’ve seen both Taylor and LBT in concert this year and there was just no comparison.

I saw Taylor when she opened for Kellie Pickler and Brad Paisley in Bonner Springs earlier this year. Her vocals were pretty good, but her guitar playing and stage presence was clearly lacking, and her band was also fairly average by most standards. Most of her songs sounded very similar with a reoccurring theme of teenage angst over boyfriends. Taylor’s set overall was pretty good but not great. Still she was well received by the younger members of the audience; but it was apparent that the crowd was waiting for the headliner. Kellie Pickler was the next act, and she sang circles around Taylor; okay half circles. But it was quite clear that Kellie, in her short time in the spotlight, has learned to captivate an audience. She certainly has stage presence and, unlike Taylor, received a number of sustained ovations for songs that had not received radio play.

I saw Little Big Town in Oklahoma City when they opened for Martina McBride and they nearly upstaged the headliner. Their set was amazing, with a very polished performances by each member, and a backing band that was as good as Martina’s. Their set included a wide variety of song styles from traditional Country, a bit of Bluegrass, even a Rock flavor ala Fleetwood Mac. Each song was captivating, backed by vocal performances that were just astounding. Their harmonies were awesome, with very engaging, sometimes haunting, lyrics that detailed a variety of adult experiences; with a noticeable omission of teenage angst. They received numerous sustained ovations after their songs, and even a few standing o’s for their bigger hits. The audience was certainly not in any hurry for the headliner. I’d have to say their performance was miles above Taylor’s.

I will say this in defense of Taylor; at 17 she does have talent. As she gets older and her songwriting matures (and she gets a better band), she may indeed be a force in the industry, but she just ain’t there yet!

First, in Our Song, it says, "And he said: Our song is the slam of screen doors, sneaking out late tapping on your window, when you're on the phone and you talk real slow, cause it's late and your momma don't know. Our song is the way you laugh, the first date I didn't kiss her and I should have." then it goes back to Taylor singing: "And when I got home, before I said amen, asking God if he, would play it again."
