:) Then you were right. People might have a different take depending on the light etc., but they always looked blue to me.

Watch the film Spinout. There is a scene where "Diana St. Claire" character spies on Elvis with a pair of binoculars. Then Elvis end up right in her face and all you see are his eyes through the binoculars users viewpoint. BLUE as can be!

DEFINITELY BLUE---------IN PHOTOS, THEY SOMETIMES LOOK BROWN ESPECIALLY BLACK AND WHITE ONES. HE ONCE SAID THEY WERE SORT OF BLUEGREEN. BUT KATHY WESTMORELAND SAID THEY WERE AS BLUE AND CLEAR AS THE OCEAN JUST LIKE PAUL NEWMANS.

The reason Presley's eyes could make him look so different, both when he was smiling or when he was not, was that unlike those of almost any other celebrity, or public figure, before or after, they were "accompanied" by a set of unusually large eyelashes, in comnparison with the size of his eyes, that is.

In fact, when a top music UK critic visited him backstage, at the International Hotel, sometime in early August of 1969, she was struck at the interview, by just how awesome that combination was. Expecting somehow Elvis' eyes to be bigger, she nevertheless (and this inspite being totally awestruck by how magnificient he looked, up close) found the "answer", so to speak, and thus made a mention of it (about the eyelashes.

Of all the great icons, of the past, or the recent past, or of the present, Presley is the only one with that combination. And I believe that to be one of the reasons for the remarkable longevity of his image, both in photographs and in moving pictures, no matter how unnoticed that may be, to the unforewarned eye...

Perhaps I should have added, in the last paragraph, that the uniqueness of the combination is in the fact that neither the eyes, nor the eyelashes are distinctively large, medium or small.

Of course, there's a billion people with eyelashes larger than the size of their eyes would warrant, but 99 percent of them lashes would be too large, if you know what I mean.

By the same token, there may be a further billion people with eyes which would be too small, and so on and so forth.

The best wxample of the awesome quality of Presley's eye/eyelash "combination" can be seen in a close up, profile shot of his left side as he is singing "Trying to get to you" in one of the two sit down segments of the 1968 TV special, namely as he closes his eyes just before exploding, a few seconfds later, into the main verse. Incredible as it may sound, at that precise moment, those eyes say so much, I would say, they say as much, as his vocal chords do, about the feeling he is trying to convey, vis a vis the lyrics of the song.

Amazing...

I believe they call that color "hazel". If the person with hazel eyes wears green the eyes can appear to be bright green. If they wear blue, the eyes appear to be very blue. Hazel eyes are kind of magical eyes...

Elvis had BLUE eyes and he did NOT wear contacts. His hair (naturally) was blonde as a young kid, brown as an adult, and dyed as time went on (after stardom).
At death the story (whether true or not I do not know) is the new outgrowth was colored with mascara by Geller to prepare Elvis' body for showing.

Well, yes, you may be describing me...backstage getting my hug and kiss and compliment from Elvis, Feb. 14, 71 after the dinner show.:) After after seeing him up close and at many Vegas shows sitting stage-side...I would still say in general his eyes tended to the blue side...
and if he had flecks of brown..he had MORE flecks of blue...giving a blue appearance to them.:) Very pretty eyes.

TCB--does that poster think Elvis was one third Cherokee? He wasnt. And his eyes were 'INDESCRIBABLY BLUE" . Ask anyone who knew him. On one occassion he himself called them bluish green though.

Is a mental case and seems to really not know anything about Elvis, Bev. His posts seem mostly seem a sad cry for attention. If I remember right...you are a psychologist...can you help?:)

Yes, Elvis' eyes were blue or shades of blue. It would be hard to convince me otherwise.

As for Elvis' bloodlines. I haven't studied that much so that is why I did not comment.

--BOO?-U-can ask me-I am always polite and a gentleman-but-I respond in like-no rudeness- Cherokee - Now did I say that?or post that?-Do U want Joek to phone and read it 2-U like he does the cloistered nun??- I said he was Matte'(probably spelled wrong)- it means-mixed aboriginal-but the mix-does not remove the beat of American Drum-or his thick hair-chisseled features-hazel/blu/grn eyes-and the voice tones-when I brought Elvis Jr #2 up to Canada's South-Okanagan- I took hi to meet the Mayor or Winfield B.C. so as he could receive blessings/went to sweat lodge/shared in pipe rituals because I wanted him to experience what Elvis did not - recognized by his also heritage North-American Indian's people-it had a impact on Elvis Jr and he did on them we did a free concert in the park-raising money for the huge Okanagan fire that year-
