They had a lot in common. Neither of them had a childhood. They grew up on sound stages and recording studios forced to work long hours as children through adulthood. They both share superstardom together for their given times. Elizabeth Taylor was the highest paid movie Star in her day. Michael is the King of Pop. They both had addiction problems. The both liked similar things and had a dislike of similar things.
Considering Elizabeth tended to seek younger men as she got older and likely could do without sex and considering Michael likely did not have much sex in reality contrary to rumors and failed extortions against him, the two should have gotten married and lived in her Mansion together. I believe they would have been perfect for each other as mates, and considering Elizabeth has the highest of quality care at her home, Michael although might have continued his addiction to some drugs would likely be alive today. The biggest problem he had with the drugs was that one that was not to be given outside a hospital so it seems, but he was not a Doctor and it is up to a Doctor to realize just how dangerous that drug is. We are not talking Percocet here where many can be addicted and live to be 90. On a note about the drug addictions that many Americans seem to have, these so called experts going on TV claiming Doctors should not be prescribing are causing much harm to patients in real need of narcotic medications for legitimate non cancer pain conditions! We should never allow substance abusers to take away from those in need. Substance abusers need treatment without harming those in need. If it were up to me, I would say we go with the Portugal plan on drugs, legalize them all, and let the Government set up pharmacies to sell them at taxation thus putting drug dealers out of business while increasing funds for the Government and keeping a close track on users for the protection of them and everyone else. It has lowered crime, substance abuse and raised money in Portugal in the last seven years since the law changed. After all, it is a free Country where the Constitution states people are Independent so let people use what they want in their own homes, but be strict about using on a job, driving etc. There was a drug problem in the days of Jesus and before that and there will be a thousand years from now. Something that is not going to go away, we must change strategy because so called interventions and making things illegal failed the last 40 years. Some people tend to like to do things they are not allowed to do. Make it allowed and part of the fun is taken out of it. |

1 This is a thoughtful post. A union between Elizabeth and Mike is an interesting idea. But she said he was like a son to her. It may not have been a bad idea for them to share a large home and perhaps live in separate wings but socialize and have meals together, be a support system. But then again, she lived mainly on the east coast, no? The problem we're having in the U.S. is with prescription drugs. And it seems the way Mike was getting them was through what we'd normally consider approved channels, such as doctors and pharmacies. The drugs are legal (I know that propyfol should not have been used in his home)How does that play in to your plan of legalization and government distribution w/ taxation. Or am I missing your point? |

You're an idiot. Oh, I take back that idiot remark. You are an UBERidiot. Allow me illustrate: Knives are legal and you can buy them in stores. Because they are legal and you can buy them anywhere, is it okay for you to carve up trees in the park? Your neighbor's dog? Your wife? Your own arm? One last time, buff'loon: "Prescription drugs" does not mean that all use of those drugs is legal, proper and allowed by law. Wacko was a major junkie and his use, purchase and possession of drugs was neither legal nor proper. If you don't believe me, YOU try doing it. Let us know how that works out for you in 15-20. Unless, of course, you end up in Hell being Wacko's cabanna boi. |

Great suggestion. I don't think State of Shock is on enough prescription drugs. She should try what MJ did since she adores him so much.
