A benefit called "For the Love of Mike" was held on 8/17/2008 and had remarkable results. Sadly, three days later on 8/20/2008 during the Open Microphone show he started 23 years earlier, Mike lost his battle with Melanoma.
He is indeed an entertainment legend as well as admired family memory. He will be sadly missed.
