I deeply appreciate Dr. Seuss' contribution. I especially appreciate his two books, "A Person's a Person, No Matter How Small" and "Horton Hears a Who" for their pro-life message.
Thank you, Jane Walker |

Dr. Seuss is my hero. I wish Mr. Geisel's family a wonderful celebration today in honor of his birthday. He has been a source of imagination and comfort for me for many years. My children are reading his books and I named my company after one of his books. (On Beyond Zebra) My co. is called Beyond Z. Much happiness today to all Seuss fans.

It's difficult to count the number of children's lives, hence adult lives, he ruined. A poor student grew into a even poorer adult and educator!!

As a mother of 2 small children, one of the things I am enjoying most is sharing with my children the things that I remember as being most special to me from my own childhood. And Dr. Seuss was my all time favourite author & is fast becoming the same for my children! As a child I loved his books because they were so silly & fun. Now, reading them all again as an adult & parent, I am amazed at the profound life lessons hidden within all of those goofy rhymes. No others within our extensive children's library of both classic & contemporary can compare!!! My husband & I commemorated the first birthday of each of our kids with special edition copies of Oh, The Places You'll Go. It chokes me up & brings a tear to my eye everytime I read it to them!
Here's hoping the stories & memory of Dr. Seuss live on for many many more generations to come!!! |

It's difficult to count the number of children's lives that Mr.Geisel/Dr.Seuss enhanced. He pioneered an enlightened approach to the age old problem of motivating children to learn. There should be a national holiday set aside for the Good Doctor ... as well as ridiculously better pay for the finest teachers we can attract. Why we don't place a high monetary value on our educational over-achievers, as we do for our athletic prima donnas, is a real blow to our race. What's more important than supporting those who provide the environment that shapes our children's future?
