Full story: Tom Watson

It is easy to forget in noting the quiet passing of an old man whose last major appearance was in an ill-fitting toupee replacing Norman Fell on Three's Company in the late 1970s that Don Knotts was one for the ...

In a time where comedy primarily relies on shock value to attempt to entertain it is difficult to fully appreciate the talent tht Don Knotts exhibited. He possessed the ability to garner laughter without a spoken word. His portrayal of Barney Fife will be forever remembered as possibly the most memorable character in television history. It seems odd to feel like I have lost a family member when I never met the man. To me, that is the ultimate compliment to the character he portrayed on the show.

Goodbye Don. Thanks for always leaving us laughing.

I can't count how many laughs he gave me. He will live on in the hearts of those of us he entertained so beautifully. We'll repeat his quotes over and over as we have throughout the years. He was a sweet blessing from God in a world that often was not very pleasant.
May he rest in peace!

Don Knotts was a comic genious. I would put the comic team of Don Knotts and Andy Griffiths right up there with the all time greats, Lewis and Martin, Abbot and Costello, Hope and Crosby etc.. Mr. Knotts was one of the funniest men reagrdless of the character he was portraying, but naturally my personal favorite is Barney Fife. As much as I love the Andy Griffith show when Don left the show it never had the same appeal. I am nery saddened by his death. There will never be another like him. God bless him.

I loved Don Knotts...our Barney. Oh, how he made us laugh!!! He made us happy. Even if you are out of town--a long way from home--you can feel like you are home if you have "The Andy Griffith Show" on TV. That cast seems like family...And among them, Don Knotts was truly a national treasure. God bless and keep him!

Thanks, Don Knotts for all the laughs and fun you brought us in our youth, and now again in our later years. You're one of a kind, and there's nobody out there to take your place. We just recently moved to Mr.Airy, N.C. home of Andy Griffith and Mayberry. We get to see your face, and we'll always remenber you and Andy.

I loved to watch Don Knotts. Somehow we have forgotten
to have clean comedy such as he often presented. I will
miss him.
