Out of sight, out of mind. So seems to be the approach many corporations take on workplace romances.

As my Uncle Tubby once said, never get your meat where you get your bread and butter. The workplace is too fraught with competition and intrigue to be intimate with a co-worker. You have to be prepared to throw anyone under the bus to protect your own interests, so look for nookie outside of work instead.

to date people at work is lazy, dumb and lacks in strategy or romance. the saying is don't crap where you eat!
I can say that to date according to proximity is kinda ignorant...

Workplace romances are NOT a good idea. Too many problems can arise, most of which can be d to one’s career. See 20 Problems a Workplace Romance Can Cause at http://bit.ly/2HNUIV Anyone tempted to become romantically involved with someone at work, should take a long, hard look at this list. The risks greatly outweigh the rewards.
Anyone currently involved in a workplace romance would do well to follow the 17 Rules of Engagement for Workplace Romance at http://bit.ly/121i2L These guidelines will help keep things on a professional level, and minimize many of the problems workplace romances can cause. David Letterman is in his present predicament because he broke the first 3 rules on this list.

If you find THE one and it happens to be at work-more power to you.

My philosophy: don't dip your pen in the company inkwell; also, don't get your honey where you make your money. I did it one time when I was much younger, fortunately, after it ended, we stayed friends. But I have seen some real horror stories play out in the years since.

It is only works permissable for NWA EVPs, VPs,& Directors.
OK for them; not for the "working swine."
Fmr. handsome "Boy-VP Flt Ops" tried to make every woman at work and Minnie. Moderately successful.
Disgusting "non-leadership."

I know that Southwest has 1000 - 1500 married couples as employees, and I've never heard of any problems that spill over into the work.

The key is respecting yourself, others, and your company ... and maybe acting like an adult, at least when you are at work.

That might also include not whining on blogs when your union can't get you the big raise you haven't earned yet :-)

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
