Most liberals are hostile, angry, hypocrites like David Letterman. Just look at Alan Grayson, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Al Franken, John Murtha, et al. Look at the angry radicals in Obama's administration.

How funny now liberals say they're for women's equality and then you have liberal male staff at Letterman's show using willing female staffers seeking employment advantage.

I've never watched a complete Letterman show. I want to punch his ugly cigar-stuffed face after less than five minutes.

What does everyone expect. Writing for that type of show has always been a male dominated job, and now that Scovell threw out the "harassment" card, it will do more to make sure women continue to be excluded than it would ever do to help the situation she is complaining about.

If women want to play in the big sandbox they need to shut up and ignore the offensive behavior that has proably been part of that industry since it stated. Does she imagine there are so few good male writers out there that employeers need to hire women?

Now potential employeers won't just wonder if a women can do the job, their also going to keep her in mind next time they hire a writer. Many will avoid the possibility of sexual harassment lawsuits by never finding the women who apply as qualified as the men. Their reason for not hiring them, probably something like "we hired someone that we thought was a better job fit". Try arguing that one on the basis of sexual discrimination.

The men in those jobs also cut each to pieces all the time, it's just their sense of humor and the way that industry treats people. Much of it is just good natured teasing, but often it's not and men who get teased can't sue, so they don't. As long as women can and do sue for things like that, the companies that hire them can and will avoid hiring them and there's nothing the women can do about it unless the men who don't hire them are stupid enought to say they didn't hire them becasue they were female.

Smart people who don't want to hire you can always find a good sounding reason to hire someone else.

Gimme a break. Grow up Americans. It's mostly about being human and power and influence. This Letterman news is a lot about nothing. As long as there are men and women and everything in between, these type of things will happen. Bash the Europeans if you will, but at least they don't pretend we'll ever be a unisex race. And who would want that anyway?
Lastly, don't we think that females in positions of power don't also engage in these type of hijinks? Sheesh. The apparent outrage is the most sickening thing about the entire issue.

I'd say your hostility and anger and your desire to punch someone out also makes you another one of those hypocrites.

This is a bad case of self preservation within the workforce.
Everything this lady has heard is heresay and rumour.
To now making public ,the event reeks of a book deal and the movie rights as well as a merchandising deal at Mc.Donalds for the Dave Letterman Inflatable Penis ,or The Dave Letterman Inflatable Ego.

Why don't we sue some of these female staffers that of their own free will open up to the men staffers regardless of their status?

How about if we just hire "not so good looking women" that would not highten the temptation factor. A good writer but not somebody that a man would not want to invite to dinner.

Nell Scovell points the finger at the male executives having sexual relations with the females, but if the women said no then it would have been rape. Since there are no allegations of rape, it would lead me to believe that the women were willing participants. Therefore as guilty as the men they laid with. These women were not under aged or it would have been statutory rape. Since there is no allegations of that, I would have to believe these were grown women not taken advantaged of, but taking advantage of their gender and money makers to advance their own agendas. This comment is not intended to justify the men involve, but to show how stupid it is to point the finger at just one side. Since it took place between couples, I would say they are both to blame.

Lets face it....female commedians are not that funny. Some are downright pathetic, or whiny. That's why there are so few of them. Audiences KNOW what they like. We don't need feminists to TELL us what is "Fair". Its not about fairness, it's about what is successful and in-demand. What actually makes money. Political Correctness has no place in business. Entertainment is a business. This is like Asian and Black and Hispanic special interest groups demanding more Asian, Black and Hispanic faces in movies and TV. But the bottom line is....they have no talent. They can't act, and plugging them into movies or TV only reduces that productions success, and viewers turn away from, or entirely avoid productions with "Token" bad actors. The reality is, this female expected Executative status, and big opportunities, but was only a bit player.

Even though Scovell says she doesn't want revenge, she has no problem writing a smear piece for Vanity Fair online. If that isn't revenge, what is?
And that will make men think twice about hiring women.
Sexual tension between a bunch of young, ambitious, smart people who work together for 12+ hours a day is natural and cannot be intellectualized away.
Sorry.

You're right. But Dave didn't need to try to make fun of it on national television. Very bush league. Very inappropriate. Maybe you are the loser for being a liberal judgemental moron.

Great points...

Also would like to point out that alot of women pursue the man in power for golddigging purposes. There really isnt an innocent person in any of this crap. To blame letterman you need to blame the woman who tried to blackmail him even more...after all blackmail is illegal and having sex with a woman isnt! She did the worst crime-

letterman is getting old and not funny anyway-so who really cares.

What about the two men who out-funny the big three a thousand times a week, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert? Do they have female writers?

What about the arrogant Oprah, gorgeous Tyra and funny Behar and Bonnie? Do they have only female writers?

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Leo

Your sunny temperament has returned, dear Leo, as the Sun and Venus dance in Sagittarius and the marvellous Moon shines in your sign. Whatever the day has to offer, it should bring you some pleasure and laughter, so arrange something nice if you don't have anything planned. Your power to charm is considerable right now and it will make you a big hit with whoever gets the full force of it. But don't give someone the come-on if you don't mean it.
