poor baby, move to Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont or New Hamshire

being gay is a choice, how could it be natural? why would nature produce a non-reproducing lifestyle, no species would survive if they were gay, it would be as if raccoons suddenly took up boinking cars crossing highways, they ain't long for this world

nature; testosterone, estrogen; we're naturally horny as teens at puberty onset, used to reproduce species
nurture; we either learn (or not) dating & mating with opposite sex, via cultural cues or training (via trial & error)

its a cultural thing, we ain't born speaking English, German, Chinese, we learn it along with its culture, mores, values

gay sex= hemorrhoids, STD's, HIV, drug use (to deaden the pain, shame)

Sad. He's a great actor. I wonder what he gained with this tantrum? Ah, that's right, he got publicity! He got some space in the press for his snit when in fact, his marriage is not at all affected.

SSM will probably pass in a few years. I don't support it, but reality and a bunch of screaming queens being what they are, it's pretty much a done deal. Why the necessity of the unnecessary drama?

Oops. I answered my own question.

It's the drama, stupid.

P.S. He's aging badly. Okay, so he's 50, but still.

Nothing sadder than an aging, bitter queen.

Because one disagrees with a concept does not make one a hater. Thus, the hater is, in fact, you.

You might want to look into that. There's hope for you, but not much until you lose that hate and change you basic attitude.

I don't think you will, though. You have too much invested in your hate to let it go.

just because they like to have things shoved down their throats doesn't mean they need to shove it down our throats. If we let the gay marry then we need to let a bisexual have two spouses. And of course we need to pay more for our insurance because their new family members will be covered on their policies. Where does it end? Oh I forgot they like that end too.

did you know that gays are about 1% of California's population?

I did the math, look below;

source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California
California's population (2008 est.):
36,756,666

10% of that would be:
3,675,667
36,756,666 x .1 = 3,675,666.6

0.1% of that would be:
36,757
36,756,666 x .001 = 36,756.666

according to an LA Times article;
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-gay-m...
only 18,000 gay couples married during that 5 month window, even knowing that there was a possibility that prop 8 would past.
that means only 36,000 gay people are married

that figure is closer to 0.1% than 10%,
0.1%= 36,757

if marriage was so important to gays, why did only .001 of Californians eligible bother to marry?
could it be cold feet? a little shyness? not ready to make such a big commitment?

or could it be that gays are really only 1% or less, but because many are actors/actresses in movies/TV or activists that are so bigger than life that it makes it seem that they are really a larger proportion than their 1%?

If you are not able to get blacks or latinos on board I don't necessarily think that it's a given that same sex 'marriage' is going to pass. Elton John was well aware that there could be a frightening backlash.

The whole idea of 'marriage' only became an issue about five years ago and I'd be very interested to see who gave it legs, because prior to that domestic partnerships was the VERY VERY specific relationship that gays wanted legally. Then ACLU and I believe divorce attorneys got on board and gays who had been very sane and balanced suddenly found that they HAD to have marriage.

Also very strange is how many straight people are finding it very difficult for their gay friends to return the respect when it comes to protecting the church. Since 3 states have already proven conclusively that schools, churches and adoption agencies will be VERY vulnerable to lawyers hostile to religion, it's very dangerous for gays to keep saying that all they want is to be left alone, when it's now being proven that without the most air tight (virtually impossible) of language, the ssm will prove irreversibly harmful to organized religions, something that gays have continually said would not be an issue.

I have gay friends who having read the articles I've shown them, where parents and adoption agencies and churches have come under attack because of laws in NJ and MA, do afford me respect and understand why I tell them that I want them happy but I cannot support 'marriage'.

Gays need to understand that a very small but incredibly aggressive faction behind this movement is intent upon using gays to eradicate organized religion. I don't think most gays are even aware that they've been used as pawns because most have been so incited by these rabid folks inside the movement that they cannot even remember that the people that they are condemning and shrieking at were only five years ago pretty much in accord with them for domestic partners.

They overreached and I really do believe that most found themselves on the groundswell. Now, since they are only 2% of the population, we are probably going to see a pushback. They count on younger people being in their corner but they don't realize that this small aggressive group is all too likely to go too far and alienate the people who are now supporting SSM.
