I say the building is too far gone for renovation. It needs demolished! There's nothing left of it but rotted wood laden with coats and coats of lead paint. If anything, they should build a replica of the original building. It would probably be more cost effective to build new.

We all care because we are tired of having to look at the eye sore all the time. Any common person can tell its a wreak so therefore knock the damn thing over and build a new one.

Stop by the POS and check the roof on the "GREAT FEED MILL"-maybe some more "OUT OF TOWNERS" can spend some more tax dollars on it-maybe they are the same group that brought the "CANAL" what a mess- level them now !!!!!!!!!!

Any one of you highly educated folks ever been in the wreck of a building you would like to see destroyed? All together now -- show of hands. None of you--so you know of not of what you speak. That building, if you care to listen is more solid after being on the planet for over 150 years then most of the buildings you live in. Screw the feed mill & the canal--this is altogether another project--one of you sub-geniuses wrote about when the bill comes in --project over. What do you people think?that everybody is as foolish as you are--maybe someone out there has a clue about what it takes to be successful & productive & maybe someone would like to put his money to use in this town because he sees more than the petty little world alot of you bloggers so frequently waste your time yakking about--I mean Chops,Jeff, drugs, ugly shop & save girls--get a life or maybe you angry pissed off losers could put your great, articulate prose to use & put all the boozy drivel you write in a collection of the worst thoughts & ideas ever collected in one small hick town--& furthermore maybe you should check your bathroom mirror in the morning & see what ghastly thing is looking back at you--by the way since youns guys knows everything about everything the betting line is 5 to 1 this project gets finished.

The line is this- If they are going to use only their FUNDS and not one cent of grants or some other type of FREE $$$ this will not move off of dead center-Oh we have been in that building and it should have been leveled twenty years ago !!!!!!!!!!

I am not a hater nor am I against the renovation of this building. I, however, believe that it would be less expensive to build new from the foundation up. There is nothing in or on this building that is salvagable worth the effort to restore (unless, possibly some of the wall or ceiling studs).

There is nothing in or on this building that is salvagable worth the effort to restore (unless, possibly some of the wall or ceiling studs). Listen up Saltsburrger--you just don't get it--it's the historical value of the building--I know you mean well but tearing it down to rebuild it is not an option--just tear it down & put a pavillion if that's your reasoning--- I know alot of you have no respect or affection for the past but some people do respect the fact that a group of honest workmen put pride & tons of hard work into these so called eyesores--they used materials that have stood the test of time.--Look what Pittsburgh would have lost if the majority opinion would have ruled--No PL&RR Railroad Station--no Station Sq-No Grand Concourse--this area was blighted at one time --just as much as the McIIwain BLDg except on a grander scale. As far as the walls that Mr Bell constructed--worthless--ceilin g studs he installed --worthless--original beams & cranes & floor boards --priceless in this day & age of plastics--and it would not be less expensive to construct a new building --even one half the size of this structure--so please get some truth & facts before you write things you are ignorant about. As Ever--SS

I agree--- the Mill is up for sale --why don't one of you sub-genius' pay the 20,000 back taxes & assume all the liens that are on the building--then you could tear it down--sell all the equipment & put a nice place for all the artists in town who sit on the stoops, who sit on the back porches & talk, talk, talk--they never have to work because they have a steady paycheck every 3rd or 4th of the month--just for being cool.
