I ran into Danny Glover a few months ago, and every word out of his mouth was f- this and F- that. He had just dropped a hooker off at a hotel, and said he had another date in 30 minutes. He looked horrible. He looked like he was sick and weak. I really feel sorry for him. He is a great actor, but there are rumors of him being with other men besides Harry Belafonte. I hope he comes to grips with his life and gets his health back. It would be a shame to lose him.

Tina - Nope. I am not Jamaican at all. Nor was I angry. In my opinion, Danny Glover can kiss and date whoever he wants. Thats HIS business, and I hardly think that it is responsible for the "changes in him"... which, in reference to the first sentence of your comment, you "know nothing" about.
Edward - maybe he was method acting... LOL.
Jacqueline - You, my christian black american friend, need help. My heart bleeds for your misguided, ignorant soul. Hahaha, you clearly don't know what you're talking about, or what voodoo is... by the way its not mercury "voodoo people" use to "manipulate and control people", its scales of a fish that can only be found off the coast of Haiti, and the south east Asia... and you obviously don't know any africans or caribbean people, so how dare you make such generalizations.
African and caribbean people need to stay away from crazy christian black americans. They wont give you the time of day unless they're trying to discriminate you. It is just a fact. LOL :o)

Jacqueline and Frieda - You seem to have pretty big misconceptions about voodoo. It is not the same as santeria and its not "evil", as it is made out to be. It is misunderstood and therefore demonized. You should probably do your research on the basics of the two as opposed to this mercury business. Which I’m not denying exists, but is blown way out of proportion.- "You come into our churches on Sunday morning and pretend to love Jesus, then on Sunday night in the confines of your mercury induced stupor you call upon Satan to help you in your evil works" - that made me laugh pretty hard. Its one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. YOU are ridiculous to even dare call yourself a christian, you hateful cow. You two are the most sorry excuses for "people" I have encountered in a long time. You still have yet to say anything remotely intelligent. All you prove to be cable of is spreading your poisonous hate and prejudice. NOT VERY CHRISTIAN IF YOU ASK ME.
I am not a “Mr.” I was born and raised in America, so there will be no need to "get back where the hell I came from". I am not even black. I am however extremely proud to have a father and many family members who are from the caribbean. Contrary to your disgusting generalizations, the entire half of my family who are from the islands are the most kind, harmless, and GOOD people. The best people I know in fact. They certainly don't have such ugly opinions about people as you two do. My father came to this country and didn't ask anyone for "a greencard or some of your money". He worked very hard, had a thirst for knowledge and ambition to succeed. He is a very accomplished man. He knows about a dozen languages and put himself through school twice. His intelligence certainly blows away the sum of what you two have! I have never once found him to be dishonest, scandalous, or rude. In fact, I have yet to meet anyone with morals as high. The rest of my family on his side is very much the same. They are all here legally, they have never taken any handouts, they're educated, hard working, GOOD GOD FEARING PEOPLE. Who could boast of more accomplishments than the two of you with your small narrow minds could dream of. These are the people I have lived with day in and day out, these are the people who raised, supported and inspired me throughout life. I'm sure the "way to much experience" you have with Africans and Caribbean people is not as extensive as that, so excuse me for finding you to be very poor authorities on the matter.

Nobody in my family "benifitted from your civil rights movement" - Haiti was the first independent black nations, they had plenty of their own movements long before here. Besides, was the movement only for you hateful black Christian types? You’re the only one who is suppose to benefit? Are you listening to yourself? Unbelievable. Their noses are hardly dumb and ignorant (like yourselves) or in the air, they do however have much more than a little, and earned it legitimately.- "YOU foreign blacks don't OWN anything in your own countries. It is sickening. Everyday we have to be bombarded with pleas to help your sorry evil asses. You had no racism to hold you down. What's your damn excuse - too dumb, too busy practicing and destroying the world with your voodoo, and too damn lazy to build your own country." - Another ridiculous statement...actually its thanks to americas trade practices and exploitation that keeps a lot of Caribbean countries in poverty... Something else that would probably be a benifit to you to research... Hard working people of these countries slave away to earn a few cents a day from trading with America. When not being ripped off by other countries, they have to deal with tourists coming in and ruining their country for them, not to mention political turmoil due to America's wonderful help.- "When I realized how pathetic you people are - ALL OF YOU, I was ashamed to be black for the first time in my entire life" - you should be, you’re a disgraceful example of one. YOU’RE the one who is sickening. How dare you discriminate against your race. You are HYPOCRITES. Your so high and mighty about “your” civil rights movement, yet you’re perpetuating the very thing that it was fought over. Hate. Discrimination. Prejudice. You certainly should be ashamed… Very ashamed.

now on to tourism. yeah, sure, its a great source of income for small islands. its also very damaging, as you'll find out if you bother to read any of the below links. why are lives being risked to come to america? because america provides a lot of opportunities for people... within its borders. this country squanders a lot of opportunities for countries outside of its own. also if you think for one second that america doesn't impoverish small countries, YOU'RE the one being naive! but let me guess, who cares right? if you're not american you don't matter, correct? also these countries ARE in fact forced to do business with america. for example, read further below:
http://www.50years.org/cms/ejn/story/105
implications and impact of tourism:
http://www.world-tourism.org/sustainable/IYE/...
http://www.unesco.org/csi/smis/siv/Caribbean/...

why didn't hatians make use of their independence? this might shed a little light on the matter:
http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/43a/184....

so you think "foreign blacks" owe you american black some appreciation huh? well this article seems to think differently:
http://www.trincoll.edu/classes/hist300/group...

actually, if it wasn't for the "foreign blacks" you american blacks wouldn't have had a country to stage your civil rights movement in! see under "African-Americans and Native Americans":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolut...
also:
http://www.haiti-usa.org/historical/index.php...
also:http://www.webster.edu/~c orbetre/haiti/history/savannah /savannah-list1.htm
and:http://www.nps.gov/revwar/ about_the_revolution/african_a mericans.html

Seems like Haitians won one of the biggest battles in the revelutionary war for you, second only to bunker hill. so where is YOUR appreciation, respect and reverence!?

"American education makes no attempt to expose the wonders of a world existing beyond its borders to its children. The outside world and its plethora of diverse people are hardly mentioned, easily summarized in brief mentions of world history. The ignorance of cultures, religions, ethnicities, nationalities and beliefs that has ensued has made America a nation neither curious to a grand spectrum of peoples nor understanding to the vast complexities of an ever-changing world. Failing to understand what exists beyond our oceans, American children, through the damaging effects of the nation’s dilapidated educational system, become isolated from the world community and the fraternity of peoples."

Jacqueline... you're just a ridiculous person, who doesn't seem to want to put much thought into life. thats fine, ignorance is bliss.
you should go back to elementary school an argue, at least then you'd be playing an even field... i can hear it now... "no! YOU'RE stupid!". "no no no, YOU'RE stupid!" "i'm telling!"

did you bother clicking the links? what on earth could you possibly have been reading that would require you to respond the way you did? you're just lashing out and not making much sense here... maybe i should speak to you like a child too, so you can understand better? hmm? want a lollipop!?

ok... no one was claiming to have "gotten you free" or "end racism" which is still running rampant in your society by the way... i believe the simple statement made was that they "influenced and inspired". and if you mean to tell me that a nation of slaves freeing themselves and reclaiming a nation that was stolen from them is not an "influence and inspiration" than, well... we already know you have issues.
"***The Haitian Revolution had an impact on many countries.*** Other countries feared that the success of the slave revolt in Haiti would implant thoughts in slaves elsewhere.***The Haitian Revolution did in fact influence slaves to rebel against whites in other countries. Places such as Jamaica, Venezuela and the United States of America were strongly affected by the Haitian Revolution.***" yeah, so we scared some racist into "clamping down harder on you" blah blah... we also helped give courage for you to try don't you think? don't you think the success of an entire nation would be empowering for people elsewhere still oppressed? why is that such a far out concept to you? and i wont bother with the revelutionary war part, because obviously you didn't bother checking it out...
as for this goverment and what they did and didn't do to haiti... if you hadn't noticed, what with all the current conflicts in the world... america does what it wants. haiti has been occupied and its dictators put into place by... take a guess! now, like i said before... you're a lunatic! to carry on anymore of this PAINFUL dialogue would just make me as loony as you... and i'm not really interested in being anything like you or sharing any of your apalling views towards your own race. so, thanks jacquelin, for sharing your little part of the twilight zone with me. may god have mercy on your hateful heart.

Amy...Get A Grip...Glover is a traitor to North America, the land which gave him the life he has. Anyone who would embrace Cesar Chavez must be one sick son-of-a-bitch. He lives in the Dunthorpe Neighborhood in Portland, Oregon (my home town) and neighbors can't wait to see him leave.
