Conan O'Brien ready to take his act out West

I think his biggest challenge will be entertaining the people who are used to Leno's vanilla, homogeneous show. I don't know the numbers, but I'm sure Letterman and O'Brien attracted a younger, edgier crowd than Leno has.

And since Leno will still be on (at 9:00 cst) a lot of his fans will be satisfied with watching that and not giving O'Brien a fair shot.

Another tough pickle for O'Brien is going against Letterman. I do Letterman at 10:30 and Conan at 11:30. Now people will have to make a choice between the two.

This is no critique of O'Brien, I like him a lot, but his ratings may start-out as sub-par to Leno's and Letterman may take over as #1. Knowing entertainment media, they will say the O'Brien move is looking like a failure.

Jimmy Fallon? Wow, these two moves will really hurt NBC. I'll bet ABC will be looking into their options for these two hours.

I have always like Conan way better than Leno. I haven't watched the Tonight show since Johnny left. Craig Ferguson rocks and I have a feeling that Jimmy Fallon will suck. Good luck to all!

Weird theory, as Conan's brand of comedy is more energetic, entertaining and original than Jay's Man on the street and goofy headlines. Come on, the funniest people on the tonight show are the random comedians that come to do a standup bit once a week.

Plus, access to all of the celebrities, and the opportunity to rip them open on a consistent basis? Perfect!

Jay Leno is ok, but he's not my brand of comedy. Conan is. Jimmy fallon may or may not succeed, but I will be watching anyway since the alternative is nonexistent (unless Jimmy Kimmel moves to the 12:30Es11:30cst slot) and the House Band for Jimmy Fallon is the ROOTS. OMG The Roots!

This will hurt nbc all around on late night. Jimmy would be good after late night with conan but him and jay shouldnt be switching.
And it was very selfish for jay to give up his show and then change his mind and get another show right before conan again. Celebrities and athletes can never make up their mind.

Conan at times is great at interviewing guests. I recall one time in his early days when the power went out in New York and he filmed his show outside the studio on the sidewalk, interviewing Samuel L. Jackson in lounge chaises. The show was great. Other times, he interviews someone straight from the producer cards, which is lame. Craig Ferguson never uses cards, and Letterman just plays with them.

I just cannot imagine that show out in Los Angeles. Hopefully, like he's trying to get across, being in a foreign place will really get the creativity up.

Jay is way funnier than Conan! I don't see how NBC let this happen, although I won't have to wait as long to fall asleep. There really isn't much on anyway!

Jay Leno lost his edge when he took over the Tonight show. Conan's show is strictly adolescent. Letterman should have gotten the show.
