I think Conan will have to "grow up" a bit if he want's the Tonight Show to make it. There's a place for everything but Conan's humor belongs where it's been - later, and on his own show. His approach to humor is a bit too adolecent to follow Jay's footsteps. If he hires new writers and tones down the goofy antics he might win the support of some of the more critical viewers like myself but might alienate the younger followers he's had over the years. Either way, I will miss Jay immensley.

Well, I love Jay Leno. I think his style of humor is witty and he is a true stand-up comedian and handles monolouges with ease. I will miss him very much. However, Conan is extremely funny. He was a WRITER for the early episodes of The Simpsons and spent some time writing for SNL. To say he's not funny is stupid, and he has a younger generation that will support him. He will lose some viewers, of course, but don't think that Jay didn't when he took over. I just think it's obviously the best choice for NBC and Conan will take us into a new generation of comedy, so like it or not...he's the man!

I do believe Jay Leno was one of the best, until his comments about our great state of WV.(not directly but referring that our senator wanted to ban Barbie(which is crazy, so many more things to worry about)and Jay stated its due to the fact she has All her Teeth!) That was just down right rude, he didn't even get a laugh from most of his crowd. Sorry Jay you lose my vote and frankly you won't be watched again at this household..........

Conan is brilliant, he really is the quintessential Irish-American comedian. He attributes his heritage to his humor... http://www.irishcentral.com/ent/Conan-OBriens...

I won't start out like so many others with bashing Conan. There is a portion of america that does find him funny. He may be an intelligent person, he may be a nice guy. Unfortunately his style of "comedy" and "humour" are not popular enough with a wide audience to take over the Tonight Show. He is also not a good interviewer. Even Ferguson is better than Conan in this area. I'll pretty much guarantee that the network will allow Conan to bring in his own writing staff, as that goes along with the position. And if you don't agree with me that Conan does not have a good (or popular) comedic writing style, just look at the Simpsons episodes that he has done, they are the stupidest and unfunniest episodes of all. Personally I'm glad that the network is keeping Jay for his own show.

Conan is very funny. He was hilarious with Andy Richtor. Yes he was a Harvard grad---and proud of it. That is a good thing when you realize how much you don't know... a fault when you think you know more than everybody else. Too bad he alienates half of his audience night after night. None of his predicessors on the Tonight Show did that. That being the case; I believe Conan is a poor choice to replace Jay Leno.

April wrote: Just because you dont get Conan's sense of humor, doesn't mean he's not funny. He is alot like british comedy, either you get it, or you don't. Maybe NBC is trying to target another generation with Conan?! I am 25 and Hubby is 28, we are excited about the transition! If you don't like it...go watch Letterman.**Gags** I beg to differ, I despise Conan... and he is far from anything remotely close to Brit comedy. He is so stuck on himself, and as interesting as watching lint in the air.
