Gran Torino was an excellent movie. At first I was bothered by the racial slurs, until I saw that it was integral to the character (Walt Kowalski). The film showed the character's depth and growth. All the characters were believable. The story had a strong sacrificial climax.

It was great from start to finish.

The racial words were very realistic, unlike Hollywoods political crap.

Excellent film and Clint really did it up well. Knew how the ending was going to be about 3/4s of the way into it, but...a superb job by all of the thespians! See it and learn what's tearing this country apart, along with the drugs.

i loved the movie and he is such a great actor. I did not like the racial over tones. Then realized it was in the 70's and part of the movie. It just evolved and I agree with Kimberly totally he is still a ladies man YES!

Billy Ray Davis is in a michigan prison in Chippewa correctional facility for murdering Steve Lynch back in 1978.They traveled from Texas to michigan on a road trip then Billy killed Steve in a carjacking for Steve's car.
Steve was a guy I knew growing up on the same street,he lived two doors down from me, we were the same age.
I wrote Billy a letter suggesting that this incident could be made into a movie,I would like to see this reenacted for the sake of seeing what happened to my neighbor friend who died so young at age 23.....

It wasn't based in the 70's. That's kind of a major feature of the film, that the city Walt knew, all white, is gone. Remember the doctor's office scene?

Butterfly Effect 3 was a HORRIBLE movie. The only one that was any good was the first one. I wish that they would quit making sequal after sequal for some movies, like Saw for instance. After awhile they get repetitive and boring.

Now this movie, Gran Torino, was great. I thought that parts of it were a bit drawn out, but overall I love the drama that it was building. I thought that it was funny how he bonded with the girl first, and especially how she fed off of his racism. She didnt let it bother her, she let it roll off her back. Thats how more people need to be nowadays.

It was a great movie. Clint Eastwood is and remains one of the greatest actors, directors and producers of all times. He does not let anything political govern what he does. He calls it as it is. I grew up in a suburb of Detroit in the 60's and 70's. I remember how great the city was before the riots and before that crook Coleman Young came in and ruined it. Not only did he ruin it, but he sold his own "people" down the river. It isn't about "white collar crime"...he was black. What you saw in that movie, including the racial slurs was a part of the culture, like it or not, right or wrong. Filmmaking is an art, and that includes the good with the bad, and the comfortable with the uncomfortable. It was a bittersweet movie for me to see, because I remembered the splendor of the great homes on West Grand Boulevard, and J.L. Hudson's Thanksgiving Day parade and the awesome displays at Christmas. It will never be again.
