'Saturday Night Live' takes pro-Hillary allegations seriously

For three decades, "Saturday Night Live" has prided itself on skewering politicians of all stripes with equal zeal, from Chevy Chase 's clumsy Gerald Ford to Darrell Hammond's sighing Al Gore.

Yes, SNL clearly appears to be pro-Hillary. But c'mon, does SNL really matter at all anyway?!? Does anyone watch and/or care? The show has been irrelevant for years now but Hillary seems to reference it like it matters more than the actual news programming out there. UGH!

Is there anybody out there at all who cares what a bad comedy TV show parodies about anything? I know of no one who watches the thing except newspaper TV reporters who have to do it because it is there job. I only read this article because I was not sure what the teaser headline meant by “SNL.” I am sorry I wasted my time. Someone explain to me why this is newsworthy.

Who cares is right, i mean really. If your vote is swayed because of SNL, Then you probably shouldnt be voting. Hillary is desperate, emotional and will do whatever it will take to win. Barack is Presidential, and calm.
The Media takes everything out of proportion, white or black. Their Thirsty Dogs, The Call Girl will get a book deal, movie etc. Disgusting as it is, its the truth. Until we as a people change glorifying idiots and celebrities. White or Black !!! Its not going to change.

SNL has obviously been pro-Clinton the last few weeks. That said, pro-Clinton sketches are largely preaching to the choir anyway.

I love it. The media overall fawns over Obama for the last year, giving him a pass on addressing anything substantial including Rezko, his support of hate through his church or his profound lack of experience and substance.

Now the media attacks the one outlet -- SNL -- that dares mock the prince Obama. Obama is like a helpless puppy the media follows around and cleans up after when he wets the floor.

Poor Obama. Always the victim.

sadly, SNL does carry a lot of weight with a lot of americans, particularly the lower income, less educated, less intelligent sector (i.e. hillary's strongest base).

this is evidenced by some previous threads on this board where the mouthbreathing hillary supporters actually thought last week's 3 a.m. call sketch was a jab at obama - it was clearly a jab at hillary, but her supporters are too stupid to understand anything more than groin and bathroom humor. in fact, exit polling shows that 80% of her supporters can't point to iraq on a map, need help tying their shoes, and have experience breaking limbs trying to jump off their roofs into kiddie pools.

SNL was making fun of how desperate, ridiculous and absurd the clinton campiagn has become, yet the irony is that clinton's supporters are buying it. just as her supporters were unable to detect the sarcasm in last week's sketch, they are unable to see how divisive, brutal, polarizing, and vindictive her campaign has become.

they are unable to think for themselves. they parrot the "empty suit" and "inexperience" arguments without having any clue of what they're actually saying. and now they're being race-baited, which is a great strategy because raice-baiting only works on idiots.

i can only hope that enough hillary supporters in pennsylvania will see the light within the next 6 weeks. this thing needs to be over.

You clearly just want to gripe about Obama even though it's clear from the article that he does not care about what SNL says. And that's fine, you have the right to do so. But I'm curious, what facts do you have to back up your statement about "his support of hate through his church?"

and before you hillary dolts pounce on my "raice-baiting" typo, let me clarify that it's a typo and not a misspelling.

now you can go ahead and try to defend yourselves.

SNL stopped being funny a long time ago. It's bad enough that it's STILL not funny (the sketches go on WAY too long) but now it's obviously pro-Hillary, especially with Fey's "shout out" to Hillary.

The used to skewer everybody.

The Daily Show on Comedy Central isn't doing much better. Stewart's last interview with Hillary was a puff piece with him throwing softballs.

Considering the rest of the media has been fawning over and/or simply too cowardly to dare to criticize the Golden Child for all these past months of the campaign, SNL was totally correct in mocking that aspect of the story. The media has been one candidate with kid gloves for fear of the dreaded R-word, and it was damn high time that someone called them out on it!

And you know what? SNL is NOT a news outlet! Chris Matthews, who admitted getting chills up his leg (likely a mild stroke) when Obama speaks/preaches, IS supposed to be unbiased, as are his cohorts on the other cable news stations. That has been where the true failure of journalistic objectivity has been and SNL was wholly correct to point it out.

It's good to know the spirit and the wittiness of Second City is still (barely) alive and kicking in SNL. Good job SNL! Give em hell!

The bottom line is that the show IS pro-Hillary. There were no similar attacks against Hillary in the weeks leading up to the March 4 primaries because Hillary needed major votes in those states and SNL did not want to do anything to jeopardize that. If SNL writers and their director, etc., are so impartial, how come there was no anti-Hillary skit with Barack? It is disgusting that these people would use their platform to bolster one candidate over the other when the show I used to love in the 80s and 90s did no such thing. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves for literally shoving their love for Hillary down everyone's throat. I, for one, am not fooled by the 'oh-no-we're-really-impartial' explanation two weeks too late. Forget that, BOYCOTT SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!!

They need to do a skit on John McCain's temper. Have a mock debate between Barack, Hillary and McCain. The 2 dems stay calm and McCain explodes at every question.

McCain just recently admitted he has a problem with his temper sometimes. Sounds like classic material to me.

Overall, though, isn't it about time to put SNL to rest permanently? The last 10 - 15 years have been unwatchable. I would say it has been 10 years since I saw a complete episode.

Best casts were:

1) The original, approx 1975 - 1979. Murray, Belushi, Radner, Chase, Aykroid, Morris, etc.

2) late 80's - early 90's. Myers, Carvey, Lovitz, Hartman, Jackson, Miller, Nealon, Dunn.

3) early 80. Piscopo, Murphy, Crystal, Guest, Gross.

The rest was mostly mediocer to out right forgettable. Chris Rock, Chris Farley and Adam Sandler had some funny characters, but that's about it since 1993 or so.

Observer, you have convinced me. I must vote for Obama because you have told me so. I'd like to defend myself, but, g'all dang it, I can't seem to because I'm just too stoopid. Can I someday become as cool, suave, sophisticated and intelligent as you? Can you teach me to tie my shoes, too? Or is it too demeaning for you to bend over and show everyone that your head looks exactly the same as your rear, you elitist tool. You are exactly like so many of the other Obama supporters out there: Holier than thou, more intelligent than thou, cooler than thou, hipper than thou. You are precisely what I have encountered in so many other Obama supporters: You tell me to vote for Obama, but when I ask you to give me a reason beyond "hope," you tell me I am either stupid, racist or both. And you, Observer, have not disappointed. GoBama!
