You forgot to mention one iconic movie figure that Heston inspired, Indiana Jones. In SECRET OF THE INCAS Heston played the adventurous rogue Harry Steele who plundered Inca gold and got up all sorts of derring-do in the Andes and Machu Picchu. Spielberg obviously took a lot from this movie to make RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK thirty years later. See my website:
