Latest Developments: City modifies its policy on site plans
Spurred by controversy over a University City development on Prosperity Church Road, the Charlotte City Council voted last week to change the way the city handles requests to change site plans for developments that have already been approved.
In the past, the city's zoning ordinance allowed planners to make minor adjustments called 'administrative approvals' to developers' site plans after the City Council had approved them. The changes could be made without letting neighbors know.
Changes to plans for a senior living facility on Prosperity Church Road called Prosperity Creek led to the policy change. Read more
