Whatever comes out at the Emmys, I can at least assure you of something: Matthew is part of Dickensian film history of being one of only six men to play the part of Arthur Clennam on film.

My, this is a HUGE story.

I have seen so articles on this, I can't keep up my google alerts for it, from USA Today, New York Times and everything in between!

Here is the word from PBS, which they declare Masterpiece will run as an encore presentation (check your station) and it is running it again to view online at the site!!

Thanks Michaela, I had a look. I think I have seen these before, certainly the "you can have any man" and the table clip I have seen before. The piece of bread bit was new to me tho. Very funny, Matthew is such a giggler!

I have watched today this wonderful video on Little Dorrit:
http://bit.ly/gUIZah

You may know it already, but I have found it really beautiful for the quick transitions of the images, the lovely music and of course the fantastic voice-overs, thanks to Matthew's velvet voice of course but with the contribution also of Claire Foy's charming one !
And the agonizing "because she loves you!"

Brings it all back, amazing video with such an eye to the person who made it! Thanks Michaela for sharing that and reminiscing!

Andrew Davies did himself proud with that one and we know he adores Matthew and I feel Matthew did 3M because of this relationship. Hope it works out like that for 3M!!!(crossing fingers).

Yes, his "presence" makes me quite comfortable too with 3M, and the witty line "it was an off day" is already a good sign, I suppose!
Thanks god Paul Anderson delegated the screenwriting!
And he signed also the television adaptation of P&P in 1995, correct?
And does he adore Matthew ? Very interesting..., and how much I can understand him for this, LOL!

I have found a nice interview (back in 2008) to Claire Foy who played Amy Dorrit.

She says:
"THE BEST PART OF MY JOB IS… the people. We filmed Little Dorrit over five months, and the cast and crew became like a big family. You realise that actors you’ve admired for ages, like Matthew Macfadyen, are just normal, lovely people. The worst bit was having to let my eyebrows grow out – I was told that Little Dorrit would never have plucked hers!
MY IDEAL LEADING MAN WOULD BE…Matthew Macfadyen – how much luckier could a girl get?"

WOW !

I have just finished watching Little Dorrit on DVD. I was managing to keep track of all the various characters until the last episode, when i suppose, all the subplots are supposed to 'come together'. However, embarrassing though it is to admit, I do not understand some things!! V frustrating! Would anyone mind if i picked yr brains a bit pls?

Hi May:-)
thank you for asking, but it is nothing to do with the words, as sound is fine! It is some points of the plot i don't understand:-(
For eg...
1. where did Miss Wade get the baby slippers from? 2. And why did she want to keep them?
3. Are Miss Wade & Amy related (sisters)?
4.I gather Mr Clemens father was the old Mrs Clemens husband & his mother a dancer/actress... but who then, is Amy's mother?(i did think for a little while that Amy & Mr Clemens would find out they were half brother& sister!)
5. And why did nasty french man visit old Mrs Clemens in the first place?
6. Who was Amy to old Mrs Clemens? Why did she be nice to her re-sewing job? I think Mrs C took Amy's fortune/inheritance in some way, but how and why?(I know it was not so much for the money as to protect some kind of secret?)
Am rather embarrassed to say I am stumped:-( I am not usually quiet so dense!
Hope it is not too much of a bother to answer, bless u :-)

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Taurus

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
